  1. I'm a Dodger fan, but always cheer for the National League. It's been a game.
  2. Dh and I have been discussing music lessons for the kids and the possibility of getting an electric piano. But we have no idea how to start looking. We want just a plain, basic piano. Doesn't have to have all the instruments and play ready-made music and all that. Anyone have one they recommend?
  3. Hi Everyone! Done: School Yelling at the kids Pushing oldest ds along with the figurative stick to get his work done Baking bread Mid-afternoon snack of fresh bread and a cup of coffee Pulled a few weeds Watered my winter garden (we're as dry as a bone out here, no rain yet) Made a pretty bouquet of zinnias and sage (all I have in the yard right now, but it's a pretty combo) To do: Make dinner early (dd's soccer practice was pushed up an hour) Pick up house, vacuum
  4. We built our own. It's in a custom subdivision. Hubby's brother is a contractor and he built it for us. It was a process I probably wouldn't repeat. Not because anything was bad about it... I'm just not in to picking out colors and tiles and figuring all that out. It was too much pressure. However, I like new houses. Much more energy efficient, bigger closets, lots of electrical outlets, etc. I like the idea of an older home, but it don't think I would like all the work that went with it.
  5. I had a personal shower and have gone to my share of them. I got some pretty stuff, some racy stuff and some regular stuff. Personally, I would have rather just gotten regular stuff.
  6. We love Tom Sawyer, Treasure Island, and Robin Hood--/The Three musketeers.
  7. No. Not my nine year old. My 10 year old, perhaps, if he understood the concept and the problem was broken down into steps.
  8. Did anyone list "Where the Red Fern Grows" for Oklahoma? We just finished crying our way through the end of that book. Edited: Ahhhh, I see it's there. Sorry!
  9. If I had a dime for every time...... I just apologize. Sincerely. I've gotten good at that.
  10. I think it has to do with tradition. I prefer the plate, rather than on-line or credit card. I like the idea of physically giving our offering to The Lord. That's why I don't even let one of the kids put the check in for me. It's our offering, not theirs. We each put in our own. That's just a thing with me. And I certainly wouldn't put it on the credit card. We get points on our cc and it would just seem to weird to be benefitting like that for giving to God. Anyhow, that's just how I feel about it.
  11. Some people are. I knew an older man (relative of a relative) who, when he found out we were adopting, told our relatives that we were going to be in for trouble because adopted kids turn out to be juvenile delinquents. Whatever.
  12. I am so sorry! I hope they catch that idiot soon! I hope you're feeling better soon!
  13. Ahhhh, now it's all starting to make sense. It's 5th grade. I was literally looking at a local Christian School's website last night for my 5th grader. Combine that with PMS -it's a lethal combination.
  14. Pastor teaches the Word of God. No apologies. It's small, everyone knows us. Wonderful people who love God.
  15. "Why won't my arms move?" "You've been mostly dead all day!" Love, love, love that movie!
  16. I will also say Bible Study Fellowship. The combination of individual study, group discussion and the lecture really helped me grow in Biblical knowledge. I'd love to go back, but this is not the right season of life.
  17. At first I thought he did, but when it was after 3:00 when he finally got home (4 hour conference call), I figured I got the better end of the deal. Poor guy!
  18. So far, so good! Had breakfast out with my BFF of 32 years at this darling little breakfast house. Eggs Benedict and many refills of coffee. Met Hubby at a diner on the freeway near his work, traded cars (I gave him his empty Honda Accord, he gave me a Sienna with 5 children), he went on to the office for a conference call with the new owner of the company, I took the kids to Costco. Now, we're home, I'm cooking up corn dogs for the kids' lunch, I'm not hungry. The afternoon - I think I'll make some applesauce and take it easy after that, since I have a raging cold.
  19. I saw that movie. I should have walked out I it. But I was young and foolish and thought I was being sophisticated watching a European movie. That was a dreadful movie.
  20. We tried A Beka spelling at first, but then switched to Spelling Workout and never looked back. We really like Spelling Workout.
  21. I've only walked out on one in my whole life. It was some weird one with Robin Williams in it. I think it was called, "What Dreams May Come" or something like that. I stayed about 10 minutes and just couldn't stand it for some reason.
  22. Casablanca Steel Magnolias While You Were Sleeping When Harry Met Sally Overboard Baby Boom
