  1. Live on a quiet lake in a small cottage. Minimal furnishings. Id'd kayak, practice yoga, read and drink coffee.
  2. 58! Well....my sister is 51 and has over 50k in student loans. She went to college in her 30s. Lived the whole college experience (dorm living, meal plans and loans) for almost five years. Graduated with a B.A in Computer Science (didn't do well with programming) and ended up or working in retail combined with sporadic employement as some sort of Autocad technician. She lives with my 92 year old grandmother and cycles through contract work and unemployment.
  3. What a special snowflake. Gag. Too good for state school and retail employement? He doesn't evoke a smidgen of sympathy from me.
  4. Happy birthday! I hope you are surrounded by love today.
  5. I haven't home schooled in 4 years, yet I can't give up this board.

  7. I would opt for an implant rather than spending money on crowns. http://periodontist.org/root-canal-or-dental-implan/ Eta: I have an implant.
  8. THIS kid is brave and his dad is my hero. I'm very happy my boys attend the same high school as this young man did. The staff and the students give me hope that their will be wide-spread understanding and acceptence of LGBT in the very near future. http://www.fredericksburg.com/news/local/stafford/transgender-student-goes-through-stafford-schools/article_784911d1-03a4-5c58-87b6-517eb940142f.html?mode=jqm
  9. I am too worried to do it. Dh updated his phone a few weeks ago and hated it. I just wanted to check to see if any hive members have updated their tablet and found the new OS to be okay.
  10. Well, there is this option http://inmyownstyle.com/2011/01/my-foyer-staircase-reveal.html I did this to the stairs leading down to my basement. They were in good shape and just raw wood so it was pretty easy to do.
  11. A friend of mine took advantage of some ridiculously cheap installation deal at one of the big box stores. I think it was $35 for installation. Obviously, this didn't include removal of carpet or moving furniture. So she and her husband ordered TWO seperate installations. They moved all their furniture to one area of the house and removed the and tge carpet from the empty area. The store then came and installed the cleared out area. During the following days, they moved all the furniture to the newly-carpeted area, pulled up the remaining carpet and awaited the second installation. I think they ended up with about 2000 sq. ft. of carpet installed for the cost of the carpet plus, dumping fees and $70.
  12. Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park with George. Bernadette Peters was in both and I just love her.
  13. My 18.5 year old Tonkinese eats Taste of the Wild grain-free dry food. I add a capsule of fish oil to her bowl . She has a healthy appetite and weighs 8 lbs. I buy it a our local Tractor Supply Co. Store. She eats about a 1/2 cup a day, so a 15 lb. bag lasts a while. She drinks plenty of water, so I'm not concerned with having her eat wet food. Her previous humans raised her on dry and she won't even try wet.
  14. Texasmama and SparklyUnicorn, how can all three of us be married to the same man?

  17. If you watch "prepper" medic videos on youtube, maxi pads are always recommended for make-shift bandages.
  18. Converting student loan debt to consumer debt is not as easy as it sounds. http://www.creditcards.com/credit-card-news/paying-off-student-loans-credit-cards-bad-idea-1282.php
  19. I had them in my early to midtwenties. The process included a palate expander and then braces. I haven't had any problems. I wear an upper retainer at night and I have a permanent retainer behind my bottom front teeth.
