  1. Apparently, there's an app for that! http://www.cnet.com/how-to/set-a-lock-code-for-individual-apps-on-android/
  2. My Discover Card was hacked last weekend. $200 worth of iTunes charges. We don't have itune accounts. My husband has a notification alert up with Discover. He gets text or emails when any online purchases are made. When he awoke Saturday morning, his phone was blowing up with emails/text from Discover about the charges. We immediately called them and reported the fraudulent charges. Discover flagged then, assured us that we were not responsible for them, and they are sending us new cards. BTW, they send out cards viua snailmail and we haven't gotten them yet. Last night, we called back and they offered to fed ex them to us.I wish I had insisted that upfront. The email or text alert notificationbs options are available for most credit cards. It is wise to set those up asap if you haven't already! We have them set up on our other cards as well. Happy shopping!
  3. I would call your local Toyota dealer and ask them if they can still get OEM parts for your make/model. You could call Autozone or other local aftermarket retailer and ask them if they carry parts for the car also. Good luck. We have old Hondas and never had trouble getting OEM parts.
  4. My husband has suggested that we sell the oven since I use my Instant pot just about everyday. My family loves Mac n cheese made in it. http://dadcooksdinner.com/2013/04/pressure-cooker-macaroni-and-cheese.html/ And Chicken soup http://busy-at-home.com/homemade-chicken-veggie-soup-with-rich-chicken-stock-made-in-the-pressure-cooker/
  5. Must I be the first person to mention the Diva Cup? ETA: Sorry, not a fashion trend, but twtm-inspred!
  6. My best friend is a small-business owner. Her premiums have increased 75% since ACA. Her deductibles and out-of-pocket expenses have increased as well. She used to cover 100% of her employees' premiums, but now she just contributes a fixed amount and they have to make up the difference if they want it. The business could not continue to absorb the increases. Her premiums are 1800/mo.
  7. It seems as though 30% of my FB friends have signed up to be consultants for the same skincare company. I have multiple invites to "Business Launches" events. It's getting annoying.😒

  9. I *think* forgoing health insurance could be a rational decision if you can'afford to pay both the premiums and the deductible. Couldn't someone find themselves filling for bankruptcy even if they had insurance because they couldn't pay the deductible? An injury/illness that requires long-term treatment may eventually bankrupt you anyway... Annual premiums: 12,000 (my IRL friends pay $18k) Deductible: 10,000 22,000+ paid out before insurance pays .01. Who has $22k a year to pay out over multiple years? You can raid your credit cards, but eventually you end up in the same place--bankruptcy.
  10. My best friend pays $1575 a month for insurance (more than her mortgage payment). She is self-employed, so she pays 100% of it. The true cost of insurance premiums is rarely felt for those that have generous employee compensation plans.
  11. That's basically what my guitarist son says. They should be fine in a few days.

  13. I am not annoyed by drivers that cut me off or speed past me. I'm not annoyed by slow service, crying babies, teenagers being teenagers or the person in the express Lane with a few too many items. I am not annoyed that I have to adjust the seats in our cars everytime I drive them. I don't take any of these actions personally; I don't assume that people are being rude to me on purpose. I am very laid-back. If I am getting jerked around on purpose, well all bets are off!
  14. We purchased this mini computer so we could watch anything on the net. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RH6BIF6/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_2?pf_rd_p=1944687502&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B00R7R1GWK&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=05577VMKZ3C4HY009MME There are optional ports for attaching a hard drive or using an SD card. It's very versatile.
  15. BTW, check the dimensions of the bags. I have a medium and it's pretty big for me, I'm 5'4.
  16. Best of luck to you, Joanne. I'm sure you are making a wise and rational decision. I pray that it all pans out for you. Miss your posting here, but know that you are busy these days. Hugs, K
  17. I too like Precious Cat as it's not as dusty as other brands. I order it from Amazon and it's delivered right to my door.
  18. I know quite a few LEOs. I'm pretty sure they'd lobby for it if they thought it was beneficial. Just like they do for body armor and AR-15s (which most have now).
  19. I would think that if it were a good, effective technology, the police would be utilizing it. The police fear their duty weapon being taken from them during a confrontation with a criminal. If this system were reliable, they would be using it.http://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2014/03/19/Smart-gun-technology-has-promise-but-needs-to-be-reliable-police-say/5001395178358/ Not reliable enough for the police, not reliable enough for me.
  20. I have no interest in this technology. When the police are willing to have this technology put on their duty weapon, then I would be willing to look at it. Until then, no thanks.
  21. I purchased a bluetooth-enabled speaker and I stream my music from my tablet. I have discovered so many great indie performers. Love it!
  22. How about suing the DOJ for not enforcing existing laws?http://m.jsonline.com/news/crime/milwaukee-man-to-be-sentenced-on-gun-fraud-charge-b99560011z1-322283481.html
