  1. We buy steak fingers or nuggets and precook them and keep them warm in a cooler or diaper bag. It is much cheaper than zoo prices.
  2. :iagree: I have a Samuel and I hope he grows up to be as sweet as yours.
  3. I know we have talked about this before and everybody was looking for a deal. Right now till March 31st it is only $99 instead of $279. Here is a link. http://patchworkjenn.dressingyourtruth.com/truefriend
  4. http://veganlunchbox.blogspot.com/ Here you go this is always cool looking.
  5. It is horrid. DH drives 1 hour each way to work. I am 30 minutes from the nearest town for groceries. We combine as much as possible. I head to town for cubs, shopping, dinner with parents. We moved before gas got crazy. I keep mentioning moving but dh likes living here. Of course i was the one who wanted to live here in the first place. :001_smile:
  6. I agree 5 gallon bucket with a gamma lid, as we live in TX and it is humid.
  7. Is there a personality conflict with him and an administrator? I only ask this as my dad teaches and on one campus it was strictly him clashing with the admin. He transferred to another school in the district and overall is much happier though occasionally they get a new admin that irritates him or they change procedures mid year and he has to change how he does something. He doesn't do well with change.
  8. Cheese sticks are good, they have protein. Would she eat a granola bar with nuts? Frozen gogurts? Mini muffins?
  9. I agree with talking to the scoutmaster. I know this talk has no place in scouts, thanks to youth protection training. It does need to be dealt with by the scout leaders IMO. I am so glad my guys are younger still not looking forward the growing up that will go on in the next few years. I am glad your son was upset and could talk to you about it. I hope my guys are the same way. It doesn't make it easier though. :grouphug:
  10. I would try a neti pot and lots of warm tea. Smelling the steam. :grouphug:
  11. Well for now my books stayed on the same shelves they just look pretty on the shelf. So my textbooks are still in the same area, cookbooks still in the same area and what not.
  12. I would also go over internet/cell phone rules. I know my niece was on facebook while babysitting, but it was after the kids were in bed.
  13. I have been cleaning and my kids have been reading books. I am trying to be patient with my 6 you who was told he needed to do math....he magically isn't and has a book instead. :grouphug: How many weeks of school have you done? Can you condense weeks a skip some lessons or do 1/2 the math problems on a worksheet and double up days?
  14. At first I thought oh pretty, then how would I find what I need. I thought I should try it and guess what I love it. Granted it is only a start but I like how my bookcases don't look so cluttered and disorganized. Now to see if I can find my books when I need them. So thank to whoever posted the flicker Rainbow bookcase thread. At this point I just redid the shelves, someday maybe I will redo the entire wall by color but at least each shelf is a rainbow.
  15. I love my correlle white dishes, I had a complete set for 12 (need to replenish bowls). I pair it with glass Ikea cups so I don't lose my cool when they break. We are heading to IKEA Saturday and will be replacing the small glass cusps as we are down to two. I also like Ikeas plastic ware for little ones. Other than that I am :bigear:. Still working the kinks of organizing.
  16. Thank you! I can't thank enough whoever it was that said I didn't need to save every last paper! It was very freeing to pick up the school room and trash the papers that were cluttering the floor and a child's desk. Thank you! I don't have to do a portfolio or anything like that and I figure if they do need evidence of learning they can give us a test.
  17. http://www.byutv.org is a free Roku channel, that has older shows on it. Some yes is specific to LDS but they also have just good clean shows. It is free. You could order Amazon Prime for her as a gift and it is a tad cheaper than netflix.
  18. Can you rent a PO box in a neighboring town to give as your address. ;) Have you found a very small home to rent/buy that has no rooms for guests except down the road in a motel? :grouphug::grouphug:
  19. I have never been told not to feed a child before nitrous. I have had dentists that are overbooked. One was so bad that I finally switched to a different dentist. Even then for a filling the wait is a month or so. It won't change that much in a month. My dentist has worked me in when I have had a cracked tooth and when I had an tooth in need of a root canal but for regular work no I wait. When my ds had an infected tooth I called till i could get it taken care of in less than a 2 months of course that ended up being a ped dentist that I didn't like.
  20. We use Rightstart math and I love their abacus. Some things you might do are matching. Have a picture of 3 with 3 objects and have him put 3 objects on the picture, jellybeans, raisins or m&m work well.
  21. Mine just ran out and they didn't offer it 1/2 off or I would have bought it.
  22. I might be biased. We live in the country and dh commutes 1 hour each way. While I love my house and we are near his family and my brother's grave, if he came home and said he wanted to move I would move in a heartbeat. I wish we were right next to his work no more than 10 minutes. It would mean a less tired husband. Not such early mornings and we would be in town. Closer to activities, and what not. Another thing to think about is gas, where do you see it going? I would love to cut our gas bill and not worry if I run an errand. I would dearly love to be able to run to one store for one item and every store and errand on the same day. No the grass isn't always greener, but I would look at the bright side for things and find more family time.
