  1. All I have to say is YOU ARE SO LUCKY! Trader Joe's is awesome!!!!!
  2. The covers are absolutely beautiful! Your dd is extremely talented! Congratulations for such a wonderful blessing!!!!
  3. This thread is giving me the heebie-jeebies! Not sure why I opened it...
  4. We're planning a trip to Acadia in September with another family. We've been 2x before, but it was before children, so we always stayed in B&Bs. Has anyone rented a house/cabin there? If so, who did you rent through? Ps- We'd need 3 bedrooms and 2 baths... 4 adults and 3 kids (8, 4, 1).
  5. I love, love, love the VW Passat/Little Darth Vader commercial. It reminds of my own boys and their desire for super powers. The Chevy Facebook First Date one was sweet, but not amazing. The Budweiser old western scene where the villian was singing Tiny Dancer was pretty funny. Then again, I really like Elton John's music, so that is probably why I liked the humor of it. Looking foward to seeing where the rest of the night of commercials will take us!
  6. I'm picking books that are far too long for the time I have during the week. So, I'm still behind, but I am enjoying the books I've chosen! :) Right now I'm reading Dragonfly in Amber by Diane Gabaldon. It's the 2nd in the Outlander series, and I'm thoroughly enjoying the ride. I also began The Door in the Wall as a RA with my 2nd grader this week.
  7. A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! I can hear the joy and peace in your post! Wishing you all the best as you begin this new start. God is SO good as long as we allow him to work according to His plan.
  8. Great video and great song! I really like the tune. Hoping your dd goes far with this!
  9. :iagree: Just mentioned this to Dh, and he agrees with this. This man needed your approval before deciding to recalculate work that did not need to be recalculated.
  10. A looping schedule is when you have core subjects you teach (math, reading, writing, spelling for example), and all the other subjects rotate in between them. If you don't finish all the subjects on one day, the schedule carries over to the next day. Eventually, you've covered every subject an equal number of times. Here's an old thread that explains it better than I probably have. http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49540&highlight=looping+schedule
  11. I'm wondering if anyone follows a looping schedule AND workboxes? If so, how does that look for you and your kids?
  12. I would have never guessed how nervous you were! You did an excellent job! It looks like a fabulous school and an amazing opportunity for staff and students alike.
  13. Ahh! PERFECT! I want to put the rolling around smiley up here because I did laugh out loud (loudly!), but now it may be a bit inappropriate! No? :D
  14. He looks like he's smiling for the picture! So precious! Enjoy your new little man!

  21. I am consistently perplexed by the corners builders cut when building homes and how they can get away with it! I am sorry you are going through this. I hope you are really going to send them that letter.
