  1. We watch shows on Amazon or YouTube and have subscriptions to Viki Rakuten for Asian dramas and Crunchyroll for anime.
  2. This is their website: https://www.rebuildyourvision.com/ I take the eye vitamin twice a day, not the multivitamin. I was skeptical at first, but I did have an improvement. My ds21 also started taking them occasionally along with doing eye exercises, and his prescription improved, so I think they are worth it.
  3. Oldest DS Loves to drive. DD is 19 and is still practicing to take her road test. She had a lot of anxiety and was afraid to drive, but has finally realized that she needs the independence. Walking anywhere is inconvenient when you are rural. We had to renew her permit, but I think she will be able to get her license in a few weeks, but I’ll still need to ride with her sometimes depending on where she’s going and do the practice runs like poster above mentioned, too. Thanks for posting. It’s nice to know we aren’t the only ones.
  4. I’ve also noticed a change in my hair - more than usual hair loss and the texture feels different. My eyesight while driving at night has actually improved and i wonder if I had problems because of an astigmatism. I started taking an eye vitamin about a year ago and my eye pressures have improved as well as my vision.
  5. I just had to replace my card, too. 😞 I have a RFID blocking purse to help prevent my card from being scanned. I have no idea where the breakdown in security was for me either. My CC company contacts me via text right away when they see something out of the ordinary. And I can approve or deny recent charges via text. If anything is denied, they send the number for me to call and speak to a rep, so they can block my card and re-issue a new one right away. Im very satisfied with them. I seem to have this issue about twice a year.
  6. Oh, wow! I will go find that thread and check you out. 👏
  7. I admire those who can sew their own clothing. I’ve always been a quilter/crafter. However, there is this garment sewing craze on YT started by a lady who is challenging people to make the walk away dress. (I think the lady’s name is Stephanie) If you agree to time and video yourself making the dress, she will email you the pattern. The idea is that you should be able to start the pattern in the morning and “walk away” in it by lunch time. It’s been fun watching all these people make the dress. I want to try it. 😂
  8. I’ve gone with my kids a few times and there are never many people. A couple weeks ago there were only four other people in the theatre with us. I like this particular cinema because the aisles are wide and we each get a recliner. Lots of elbow room.
  9. I did TBR with the YouVersion Bible app so I could do the discussion with friends after we all did the reading. It helped us stay on track. A friend of mine used the book because her internet was spotty sometimes, so she couldn’t always listen to the podcast part.
  10. I use a particular brand lotion morning and evening and throughout the day as needed but I don’t like to received random lotions and soaps as a gift unless it’s the brand I use or hand made goat soap. I especially like oatmeal goat soap in the winter because it isn’t so drying to the skin. If you are going to get personal skin care products for someone, they should be something the recipient already uses and loves.
  11. I had a front loader that was replaced with a top load Samsung. It plays a loud song when done instead of beeping that can be turned off if you have small children who nap. My biggest gripe is the machine is large capacity so it is extremely difficult to reach in and get the clothes out to put in the dryer. I’m 5’2”. My friend with the same problem says that she uses tongs to get to the clothes on the bottom.. Just something to think about. No recommendation really. 😂
  12. Rice is a staple in my house. I’ve had many rice cookers over the years. My mom would give me a new one every two years or so. Tiger and Zojirushi are great, but if you are looking for an inexpensive brand that works well, Aroma is fantastic! Target carries them. Stay away from Black and Decker. They spit hot water all over the counter when cooking and a lot of people complain that they had one that quit working within a few months including myself. I should have read the reviews sooner.
  13. I love to make quilts but I don’t think I would wear the quilt print or the scrappy squares. It’s just too bold and weird.
  14. Those Rilakkuma are cute! I used to use the colored mixing powders and seaweed punches to make fun lunches for my kids. They loved it! They’re all grown up now. Here’s a kids’ bento blog for ideas and just fun to look at. I think this lady’s children have all grown up, too. http://www.bentomonsters.com/
  15. I have had rice ball shapers but have found that shaping them with your hands is the best way. I will scoop the desired amount of rice mixture and filling for the center into a sheet of plastic wrap and make a ball using the plastic as a barrier and then shape it into a triangle with my hands. The rice releases easier and your hands don’t get messy. Then I put it in seaweed paper for onigiri so it doesn’t moisten the seaweed until ready to eat. The package comes with stickers to hold the paper in place and you can unwrap the plastic and pull it away to leave a fresh, dry seaweed paper touching your rice. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U321JJG?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder-t1_ypp_rep_k0_1_17&amp=&crid=18K1521M22HKP&amp=&sprefix=rice+ball+seaweed
  16. I love jjill.com for tunics. They are a bit pricey, but if you sign up for their emails, you will know as soon as they go 40% off. Their clothing is so comfortable and dressy.
  17. Saxon is a wonderful math curriculum loved by many, but I remember Saxon 8/7 being a very hefty book printed on newspaper thin paper. I just double checked and it is 931 pages and 4 pounds. I say this because my daughter never loved math and this book would make her very unhappy. If she can test into Saxon Algebra 1/2 then that’s different, but I just want to warn you that the size of the 8/7 book is intimidating for a person who doesn’t like math.
  18. I did MFW CtG a long time ago with my two oldest kids and we loved doing all the activities. Measuring the Ark, Manna (popcorn) from Heaven, and making challah bread and Lentil Soup. We had to watch a few videos to learn how to braid the bread. We enjoyed the Patricia St. John books and added Rummy Roots (card game) to help learn Greek/Latin roots. My youngest probably would not like CtG though. He would find flipping through several books very boring. They used a couple different books back then, and I noticed that there is an Usborne Internet-linked history book now. Do those! My youngest (9yo) loves the internet-linked science books and your kids might enjoy the variety of links to learn about history. https://usborne.com/us/quicklinks/quicklink/world-history-ancient-to-modern?page=13 The activities in the pyramid science book are fun, too. Are you using the book list in the back of the TM? They are listed by reading level, early readers first to more advanced. They’re also divided by subjects by week. Maybe, you will have to use the TM as a buffet and pick and choose what to do. It will leave room for rabbit trails if you find something interesting. Or, try something else. I don’t have any recommendations for another curriculum.
  19. I looked at the scope and sequence and looked it up in that Light Unit. It starts in LU503, Lesson 3.
  20. I’ve used CLE math for my 3 children. The LightUnits are written to the student, so if you have independent readers, it is possible for them to do math on their own. My oldest always got math done on his own. My middle child was a very creative, right-brained child and needed me to sit with her through the new stuff which didn’t take long and then she could do the rest of the lesson on her own. My youngest also doesn’t like to do math (or anything school), but he is getting better, so it might not be the answer to your math problems, but if your child is placed well and feels comfortable enough, he would be able to do math mostly or entirely on his own. I bring this up because I saw your other post about schooling 4 children. If you could get math done independently, it would free your time and your child wouldn’t have to wait for you to do math. You really don’t need to worry about losing track with it because there is a quiz every 5th and 10th lesson and a test at around lesson 15 or 16 for each LU, so you’ll know how they are doing if you check those right away. You can always just buy one LU where he places and give it a try. If it doesn’t work for you, it’s not a huge investment.
  21. I had a feeling you were going to say Love Comes Softly. The storyline in the shows are so different from the book series, but I still liked it. I have “Christy” on DVD. You’d like that one. Your library might have it.
  22. It’s important to find the cause, but in the meantime I also recommend she try taking acidophilus once a day to get her gut back in balance. My favorite brand is Solgar. I don’t recommend eating yogurt unless it is plain yogurt. Most yogurt has way too much sugar added.
  23. My daughter took a couple courses on Udemy.com. You can watch samples to see if any of the teachers click with you. I think we used Scott Harris and we still get updates from him every now and then and she took those courses several years ago. It looks like they have a lot more available since then.
  24. I love my Kuhn Rikon stove top pressure cookers! I keep them even though I have an IP now.
