  1. 😂 You’re welcome! Those boxes have been a hit and ds loves to get them each month. And, I get a break from teaching science since he just scans the QR code and watches the video.
  2. DS requested this for Christmas last year.

  4. In the past, I’d have my plans figured out by February. Here we are in April and I still don’t know what we’re going to do. 😔 I have a list of curriculum from our shelves that we could choose from. I just need to pull it all out and decide. Ds has to test this year and as soon as he completed the practice tests, I knew I needed to tweak my list again. I enjoy reading all your plans though. Hopefully, we’ll sort out our plan soon.
  5. Responding in hopes more MCT users will chime in. I used Island and Town levels and it was my son’s favorite subject. I’m glad to have read along with him. It’s a really enjoyable course. To keep costs down, I’ve read that some parents just buy the teacher books and share them with their student since they are the same as the student book with extra notes for the teacher. I don’t know anyone who has used the online course. It would be too much for many homeschool budgets. I looked up the Online g3 offerings and the pricing is better, but they complete it in only one semester. It doesn’t look like they cover the literature portion, so you might want to consider that, too.
  6. @Amethyst I love that your husband helped. He’s a good man. I was on a deadline to finish a quilt once and my husband sent me to bed and finished sewing the binding on for me. ❤️
  7. Ugh, my ipad keeps dying while I’m replying. In that case, I have 2 more suggestions. If you put the borders on each side and then trimmed off at the end, it could cause waves. It’s recommended to measure the length in several areas, 🤞🏼hopefully the measurements are close, take an average, and cut both sides the same length and ease the sides to fit the border you cut. This helps your quilt to stay square. second, right before I sew on borders I stay-stitch the outside of the border fabric before I sew it on the quilt top. (or you can stay-stitch all the way around the outside of the quilt after putting all the borders on.) This keeps the quilt edges from stretching out during handling. it’s a very pretty quilt and I love the colors.
  8. I zoomed in and noticed that only the center of the quilt looks to be quilted. There’s no quilting in the border to the edge of the quilt. The quilting will take up a quilts length up to a few inches depending on the density of the quilting and since your border doesn’t seem to be quilted, that didn’t get taken up with rest of the quilt and remains the original length. You could go back and try to quilt the border to match it with the rest of the quilt length or you can give it a good steam press and spray wet it down and press and see if that helps.
  9. I recently had a great experience with Max and Lily. https://maxandlily.com/collections/full-size-single-beds?sort=ga_unique_purchases%3Ddesc
  10. I get ads on IG for these and there were several comments from people who bought them that said they were way too long and the inside of the pants was scratchy material.
  11. I’ve been thinking about this. Aside from piecing more quilts, I’m hoping to make some of my own clothes. This will be the year! 💃🏻Finishing UFOs doesn’t spark joy, it just makes me tired, so I’m not gonna worry about those.
  12. This was a birthday gift for my friend’s 11yo daughter finished earlier this month. It’s the free Moda Love pattern. Afriend quilted it for me. The lighting in the room wasn’t very good, so the colors may be tough to see.
  13. @Faith-manor this might help - https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/collections/elna-sewing-machine-parts-model-list
  14. I’ve been collecting clothing patterns this past year, but haven’t made any of them. It’s hard to find the right fabrics locally. There are no apparel fabric stores near me and it’s difficult to buy online because I can’t see and feel and stretch the fabric. Buying the fabric when you see it is a good thing. It will be there when you get your sewjo back. I’m interested in these wide leg, linen pants. Sounds like something I would like.
  15. This is beautiful! I’ve always wanted to try making a double wedding ring quilt. I have a pattern and all the fabrics purchased years ago and that’s as far as I got. I’m in awe.
  16. I bought a planner recently that you might be able to fit all of that into. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BLZCP933?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details i see that there are also 3-tier planners that started this past October if you need something to start right now.
  17. Take a look at Ellen McHenry’s Chemistry. It’s a fun and affordable Intro to chemistry course for ages 8-14. Written by a homeschool mom. It takes 6-9 weeks to complete. https://ellenjmchenry.com/product/the-elements-digital-download/ it meets the age and time requirement, but I don’t remember lab reports. It’s been a long time since we used it. Dd did learn the periodic table, elements, and bonds.
  18. Handmade goat milk soap crafted locally especially in the winter when my skin seems a bit dry. I also use Dr. Bronner’s Castile soap to make my own foaming liquid hand soap.
  19. @Faith-manor You did a fabulous job! The floral arrangements and arbor are beautiful. I love the colors. You are quickly becoming the go-to person for weddings.
  20. Just bought this on Audible. Thank you! I have book credits I need to use.
  21. We’ve bought curriculum and have not used it much. We are enjoying reading Bible stories and memorizing scripture a La CM style. I’ve been wanting to try this for a couple years, but this is the 1st year we’ve put it in practice, and it takes less than a minute so far because we only have 3 verses. I’m glad we started.
  22. I’ve also used California Olive Ranch and I did see them on the good brands to look for list and it is common in my local grocery store. I’ve been buying Napa Valley olive oil by the case recently from Azure and it is described as buttery, so you might like it. https://www.azurestandard.com/shop/product/food/oils-fats/olive/extra-virgin/olive-oil-extra-virgin-organic/7917?package=OL065
