Do you remember what kind of binding you asked about? I was thinking of either three hole punching it and shoving it in a binder or spiral binding. And dumbest question ever would be how do they get the file? Would I put it on my jump drive? Did you get my last pm? :tongue_smilie:

Did you have these printed or are you using them online? I can easily do the online way because my computer is on our homeschool table, but was wondering about the cost of printing. I'm still going through and reading PLL, but as a FLL user I like this a lot more. I think that FLL goes too slowly and is far too repetitive for Sophie's liking. She's very good at retaining the info and doesn't need the amount of review in FLL. PLL looks like it moves along at a faster pace. I think I'll figure out where we are in PLL and switch over today.

not happy with MUS; what would be better?
sweetfeet replied to Heidi7Sue's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
We went from MUS alpha to singapore to rightstart b. RSb has been the perfect fit for my dd. I guess it really depends on why MUS isn't working out for your child, but mine was lost with MUS and singapore and now she truly understands and loves math.- 26 replies

Ice skating attire?
sweetfeet replied to Melissa in St Louis's topic in General Education Discussion Board
When my dd took skating lessons last year she wore jeans or fleece track pants with a long sleeved t and fleece jacket over. Gloves were necessary as she fell a lot the first few times and her hands were on the ice a lot. -

sweetfeet replied to beth in md's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
I see you received help for getting the font onto your system. There are many excellent, free handwriting fonts out there that can be found by googling handwriting font. -
Word doc to create lined WWE copywork pages?
sweetfeet replied to beth in md's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
Google "penmanship print". It's a downloadable free font that has handwriting lines. You use the ` to create seamless lines. I use this font with word to create our copywork pages for WWE, FLL, history and science. -
We are doing WWE 1 workbook. It's pick up and go for us. Along with WWE we use FLL and ETC 5.

If you are a somewhat dominant personality...
sweetfeet replied to Laura Corin's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I absolutely have control issues. I would say it is a major part of my decision to homeschool. I have a few friends who would say the same about themselves. -
Give me your secular TWTM in a box wish list.
sweetfeet replied to Lovedtodeath's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
I'm looking ahead to second grade for this fall. I was going to pick up a copy of Our Island Story to go along with SOTW 2 and our Usborne IL Encyc. of World History.- 67 replies

Give me your secular TWTM in a box wish list.
sweetfeet replied to Lovedtodeath's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
No, I didn't know about that group. Thank you! I knew I could easily leave off the bible study, but I was worried about the missionary stories and what else might be included. I'll see if I can locate that yahoo group.:D- 67 replies

Give me your secular TWTM in a box wish list.
sweetfeet replied to Lovedtodeath's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
I keep looking at Sonlight, despite the fact that I very much need/want a secular program, simply because it's all laid out and very organized. I've tried and tried to make my own wannabe sonlight schedule using the curriculum I already have but it takes hours each week. I want check boxes and at-a-glance, week-at-a-time pages. I want a literature rich program. I feel like Veruca Salt right now. I just don't want to hole myself up in my 'office' for 2-3 hours on Sunday night figuring out a schedule and formatting it in word week after week.- 67 replies

Does anyone own TEVA flip flops ?
sweetfeet replied to teachermom2834's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I had a pair of the 'mush' style teva flip flops last summer. They were cute, cushy, and not very expensive. I liked them a lot and will probably buy another pair this summer. However, they were a single season item as I unfortunately wore them out. They were my only shoes last spring, summer and the beginning part of fall so I wasn't surprised or upset about their relatively short life. -
s/o do you belong to a hs support group
sweetfeet replied to newlifemom's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I'm lucky to belong to a very secular group. No statements of faith and really we welcome everyone. I love the diversity of people in our group and I'm so happy to have such a group available. There is no way I would be able to join a group that requires a SOF, which the others in the area require, and I'm not sure how successful our home school journey would be without the support and friendships made in our group. -
I'm using it with History Odyssey. I really like the way they rearrange the order of the chapters. It makes SOTW flow quite nicely.

1st grader still need phonics program?
sweetfeet replied to browneyedgirl's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
I'm having my dd complete the ETC series as I feel like it's something that couldn't hurt, anyhow it's fast and she loves it. We'll pick up spelling in the second grade in addition to wrapping up ETC. We are on book 5 now. -
First Language Lessons or Primary Language Lessons?
sweetfeet replied to NaturalFamiLEA's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
We're using FLL for first and 1/2 of second grade. She'll have it finished by that time and we will then move on to PLL. -
Will you be buying the new edition of TWTM?
sweetfeet replied to Michelle T's topic in General Education Discussion Board
No. I bought a 99 edition after reading the 04 edition. I actually prefer the 99 edition because it tells you how to set up subjects without relying heavily on curriculum. The 04 edition seemed like a parade of recommendations, which I appreciated, but I feel like knowing how and why they recommend a curriculum and how it should be set up is of more use to me. -
I've bought Bob's red mill ww pastry flour at Meijers and Kroger. Not sure if you have these stores, but they are regular grocery stores. The ww pastry flour comes in boxes about the size of the aseptic packs of broth. I found it in the baking aisle with the organic spices and baking items. ETA: duh I see you tried kroger. Our kroger does carry it. I wonder if you try looking in some different areas you'll find it. It wasn't near the regular flours.

All you 4H-ers...is it too late to join?
sweetfeet replied to MMinMN's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Most groups have their registration around Jan-Feb so you should be able to join for the year now and show at the fair in the summer. When I was doing horse projects you had to have the animal and project book selected by March 15th in order to do a project and show at the fair. -From a former 4-H'er and mom to a current Cloverbud. -
I have it checked out from the library. The book is absolutely gorgeous. It's big and heavy, which I love. It's just so full of photographs. There are real pictures as opposed to the (rather lame) drawings in the usborne internet-linked world history book. It is truly a feast for the eyes. I'm off to order my very own copy. I haven't been so excited about a book in a very long while.
