  1. I'll duck after typing this, but, please head a different direction from the dead/dying/hey you're old and can't hold your bladder gifts. DH & I have both gotten those at our 50+ parties. We've never been sensitive about our ages, have rolled through our 30s, 40s and now 50s with most people being surprised that we are in our 50s. They just come across as cliche and very unimaginative to most of the people who receive them. Give a gift that'll bring a laugh and remind them of you-I know easier said that done  I'll slink off and hide now :leaving:
  2. Check with your library bookstore before donating. A lot of great books I donated went to recycle.
  3. What a wonderful woman and leader. I always loved the relationship between MT and Reagan.
  4. You might want to post your questions here: http://forum.lowcarber.org/ It's an active site with lots of knowledgeable, helpful people.
  5. I don't have any words to offer but am sending a comforting :grouphug:
  6. He is risen, indeed! Alleluia!
  7. After spending 5 hours driving dd back to college yesterday in a snow storm, I planned on being a slug laying in bed reading today and looking at the beautiful snow with a cup of tea. However, our cat decided to throw up under the bed-in the exact middle. This required me totally taking the queen size bed apart, cleaning the carpeting and, what the heck, since the bed is apart washing all the bedding. I want my snow day back!!!!!!
  8. Personally, I'd drop him a note thanking him for the camp information and tell him ds was accepted in both and is looking forward to attending.
  9. Ohhhh, how sweet!!! Enjoy your banishment

  11. I'm still looking for a $50.00 gc from Puccini's that I got dd for Christmas!!! :banghead: Decided next year I'm going to make a list so I don't lose anything!
  12. Can I just say I feel your pain! I was visiting my oldest dd at college last week for her b'day. I told her when she's home for Spring Break we need to go shopping for new clothes. Her response???? "Mom, I'm at a school that's 90% guys. I just have to show up-it doesn't matter what I wear." :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
  13. You should be proud of him! You're setting the foundation for a strong man!!
  14. I highly recommend this group for your questions- http://forum.lowcarber.org/ . I have been very successful w/Atkins and, contrary to what my former dr thought, I have excellent numbers to show how much healthier I am on it. WW and other low fat/high carb diets just left me fat and miserable.
  15. I've been e-m back & forth with the owner. He's a friend of my dd (they're computer engineering students) and I didn't want to look like an idiot if it was right in front of me-haven't used Etsy before. Thanks!!
  16. Could someone tell me where I actually pay for this item? http://www.etsy.com/...e-cabochon-ring

  18. Now that the kiddos are off in college, I'm wanting to branch out. I have a part time job at the library that I want to keep but am hoping to find something else to try. I have a 90+ year old friend that I take out to lunch, groceries, errands once a week that I really enjoy spending time with. I'm thinking about maybe expanding on that. Any suggestions of businesses you've used, worked for?
  19. State by state teen driving deaths acticle. I live in Indiana which has one of the highest. http://autos.aol.com/article/deadliest-states-for-teen-drivers/?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl12%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D275395
  20. Yes, when I was 16 everyone got their license as soon as possible. I also had 2 classmates die in accidents that were not their faults. My oldest got her license at 17 because she was ready and needed it. My 20 year still doesn't have hers and doesn't need it because of where she lives for college. She was run off the road by an SUV with a driver talking on her cell. I'm not babying her-she doesn't see the need at this point. She very much sees the dangers around her with all the young, distracted drivers. In several cases I know, parents that have pushed them to get their license when they weren't ready because it made it easier on the parent.
  21. Prayers continue to help thru this time-so glad they are in contact.
  22. If I couldn't afford to have them professionally done, I'd use slipcovers. It's a lot of work!! There's some cute one's here. http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Slipcovers/1457/cat.html
