How do you know whether your post to groups or pages you've liked will show up in people's news feeds? Is it open vs closed group? I'm not concerned about other people seeing it, that's the nature of groups and other pages, I'm just wanting it to not show up in my friends' (actually relatives'!) news feeds and call attention to it. But I've had people comment to me about posts I've made and the only reason they would ever know is because it is in their news feed, they aren't members of those groups. And I've seen other friend's group posts and I don't understand why it's in my news feed. I know I can hide those, but I want to avoid mine showing up in theirs to begin with. Clear as mud??? :)

skeeterbug replied to Iskra's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
Not working for me either...I'm hearing that PHP has purchased the lapbook and they are determining how to make it available. -

Oh no, the SOTW 1 lapbook making video is gone!!!
skeeterbug replied to Iskra's topic in K-8 Curriculum Board
Oh no, I bet some people will be pretty disappointed that her blog is gone. I am so glad I downloaded the things I needed for SOTW 2. She only did the first part of SOTW 2, the rest (and a lapbook for SOTW 3) are at this blog... http://brendajohnston.blogspot.com.au/2013/01/story-of-world-volume-2-lapbook.html For Chapter 19...fold all the circles in half. Glue the back of the right side of the M circle to the back of the left side of the B circle. Then glue them to the inside of the folded blank circle. (So the left side of the M circle and the right side of the B circle get glued to the blank circle.) It makes a little book in the shape of a half circle. The title goes on the outside front. Does that help? -
I haven't had experience with their customer service but am listening since I intend to buy one of their e-books soon. I just tried adding and deleting items from my cart and had no issues, I'm sorry I can't help.

Has anyone done the Project 333 clothing experiment??? (minimalism)
skeeterbug replied to Stacia's topic in The Chat Board
Went through my closet the other day and filled up a whole garbage bag to donate! Yay! I'm not down to 33, but I've made a good start! I changed out all my hangers so they match and everything hangs so nicely now. Planning to go through it again in a couple of weeks and see what else I'm ready to part with. ;) -
Anyone start back today?
skeeterbug replied to Mommy22alyns's topic in General Education Discussion Board
My husband is taking Wed-Fri off work, I decided there was no point in doing two days of school after taking off last week. My kids are enjoying extra tv time, and I'm enjoying various cleaning and organising tasks around the house. :) -
Don't think I'd want to dye my hair if it was that long either!

Has anyone done the Project 333 clothing experiment??? (minimalism)
skeeterbug replied to Stacia's topic in The Chat Board
I've been reading about minimalism lately, so what a timely post for me! I'd love to do this. I have a number of items in my closet that I don't wear and it's time to pass on. I'm inspired! I likely only actually *wear* 33 items in my wardrobe, but have plenty more than that so I can definitely do some cleaning out! Thank you OP for the link! -
My mailman just put a package at my front door, it's Sunday...

I hope the mailman is being paid well for working Sunday!!! -

Need MIL advice, or just advice on how to not let things bother me
skeeterbug replied to ksr5377's topic in The Chat Board
My first thought was, I wonder if OP is pregnant? My mil was never so irritating as when I was pregnant! She wasn't any different, but I was- hormones, I guess. She can still be annoying (it's in the job description, right?) but it's not all-consuming like when I was pregnant. :D -
:iagree: :iagree: :iagree: :iagree: :iagree: Ugh! I can't eat it unless it maintains its crunch!!! Soggy cereal makes me gag!

Large family frustration and autism spectrum disorder

:grouphug: You know your daughter does not 'have to' go carolling, right? Or that there must be another family whose child is in that orchestra that could surely come pick her up? You must drop something. You must. :grouphug: -
Fever 11 Days, Rash with Fever, What can it be?
skeeterbug replied to StartingOver's topic in The Chat Board
My oldest had something like this when he was about 5 or 6. But it didn't last that long, it was only a few days, maybe 4-5? We didn't treat the fever every time it went up. The rash didn't start until the end, the first few days it was just a fever. When the rash started we went to the doc and she said it was just an unidentified virus. No treatment. Interestingly, every time he was cold (say, coming in from the car during winter) for probably the next year or so, you could see the rash again faintly. A fever for that long is definitely more worrisome, I hope it's nothing. -
I changed my baby's nappy on a picnic table yesterday...
skeeterbug posted a topic in The Chat Board
And I lovingly thought of The Hive as I finished. ;) :D This was at an outdoor pool, the table was away from the water. I didn't want to leave the pool area where my other kids were swimming, so I folded up a towel and laid my five-month-old on it and changed him. It wasn't a smelly one (only wet) and it didn't even occur to me that I'd just used a picnic table as a changing table until I was done! I could have done it on the ground but automatically went to the table without even thinking about it because it was the right height. I promise at no time did that darling little nekkid bottom touch the table. Or the dirty nappy for that matter, it went straight in my bag. No Starbucks in sight. ;) Am I now banned from the boards? -
I'd like to scan in old photos. Is a photo scanner worth it? Will I get a good quality image? I'm thinking it's something I can do while I'm sitting around breastfeeding a baby, or in front of the tv, or get my kids to help with. Yes, I have a flatbed scanner, but the idea of scanning multiple photos on it gives me multiple headaches...;) I've read that taking pictures of them actually gives you a better image, but that would be very time-consuming as well. I'm intending to trash the photos afterward. Right now they sit in boxes and never get looked at. I'd rather preserve them with all my other photos electronically.

s/o Those of you that think gas prices should equal Europe's
skeeterbug replied to NatashainDFW's topic in The Chat Board
The first time I saw a huntsman I screamed and dissolved into tears. (I was pregnant, hormonal, and homesick given I'd just moved to the other side of the world to the land of giant spiders.) The first time I found a huntsman in my house I called my FIL to come kill it for me! Now I can deal with them, but I still give a little yell. ;) -
IDK. I have one friend that I've inserted my foot so far I don't think it will ever come out. I didn't mean it that way, really. Sigh.

Ah, but the important question is...were you wearing your heels while you drove that gorgeous car? ;)

Yay! We told our kids last year on Christmas. Not quite 42 but late thirties. ;) We wrapped a gift for the baby without a tag on it and left it under the tree. After we'd opened all the gifts we all wondered aloud who that last gift could be for! It was great fun.
