  1. It covers 4 strains of meningococcus, which is a bacteria. It doesn't cover type B meningococcus, which causes a substantial number of cases.
  2. I made this last night, and it was delicious. Be sure to read the reviews if you want to make it. Thai Pineapple Chicken Curry I used Thai Kitchen red curry paste and 1 Tbs was plenty. 1/4 cup would have made it inedible. Also, I sauted the curry paste with the chicken first, then added the other ingredients. Once you add the peppers, you only need to cook it for about 3 minutes, otherwise they'll get soggy. And I served the pineapple as a side dish since my kids weren't sure they wanted it mixed in. I also added a slurry of 2 Tbs cornstarch and 2 Tbs water at the end to thicken it up. I'm eating leftovers now for lunch. Sooooo good!
  3. I regret moving all my books. After moving many, many boxes of books, I decided I would never do that again and sold or gave most of them away. My only regret is not writing down all the titles. I wish I'd kept a record of everything I've read.
  4. I like my house but don't love it. I tolerate my city but I don't want to stay here forever. I'm hoping to move as soon as the kids leave home.
  5. I've had great success with Craigslist for furniture and bigger stuff. I donate clothes and small stuff. Garage sales have been a total waste of time for me.
  6. They probably aren't really familiar with Tourette's. Sounds to me like people are trying to be kind and helpful.
  7. Is there some resource that lists average test scores, gpas, and class rank by college? I've looked at some university websites, and can find that information for a specific school, but I'm looking for a compilation of that information for all schools. Thanks.
  8. I've logged in from hotels, restaurants (Bruegger's, Panera, etc) and skating rinks all over the country. It's not a problem.
  9. So are you saying she started ballet and pointe at the same time? If so, this is a huge red flag that she is not receiving good instruction. Dancers need several years of intensive ballet before starting pointe. I'd also be concerned about whether her shoes fit, as they so often aren't fitted properly, resulting in feet, ankle, knee and back problems. I posted this on another thread: I really like the forum Ballet Talk. Here is part of a sticky that is posted there. You'd have to join to read it all, but it's a great site with a wealth of information. When she gets to pointe, make sure she has her shoes fit by someone who really knows what they are doing. If it takes 5 minutes, they don't know what they are doing. Here are a couple articles. Pointe shoes When Can I Start Pointe Work? Guidelines for Initiating Pointe Training

Pointe shoes When Can I Start Pointe Work? Guidelines for Initiating Pointe Training I wouldn't let my girls take pointe unless I was absolutely sure they were adequately prepared. While I really like our dance studio, it isn't a ballet school and I'm not comfortable with the pointe instruction, so I've decided against letting my girls take it. They are good dancers but neither of them plan to be professional ballerinas, so I'm not willing to risk their health. The girls who take pointe at this studio are constantly having problems with their feet and backs.
  11. 40. My youngest was born when I was 39. I was exhausted. I'm still exhausted.
  12. We replaced our carpets with wood last fall. I *LOVE* my wood floors. Ours were about $7.50 a square foot, plus $1500 for the stairway and a few hundred more for trim work and "lacing in" to the existing kitchen wood floor. We had about 1500 square feet plus the stairway. Total cost was about $12,000. It took 3 weeks for the upstairs and downstairs, but the stairway and trim work took forever as it had to be custom made and the guy didn't allow enough time, causing it to drag on and on. I think it was 9 weeks from beginning to end. We could have got it a little cheaper by going to a big box store, but we really wanted to support the local business. He had done the floors in our old house and we knew he would do an excellent job. I don't think you are going to be able to have a wood floor installed for $3.00 per square foot. That probably doesn't even cover the cost of the wood. I don't know how much laminate costs. In the long run, wood is probably more economical than carpet, since you will never have to replace it. But the up front cost is going to be more than carpet. Good luck!
  13. We had grilled tri-tip for the first time a few days ago. It was a big hit. We'll definitely be having it often.
  14. I put everything in serving bowls and put it on the table. If there isn't enough room, we use the island as a buffet. Once I sit down to eat, I want to stay there and enjoy the meal and have a conversation with my family. I find it really unpleasant to have people getting up constantly for seconds. I'd much rather wash a few extra dishes than have people in motion.
  15. Do they understand it? Can they consistently do it correctly? If so, I wouldn't expect them to continue to do more problems. They should do a few every now and then for review, so they don't forget how. I don't allow calculators until Algebra 2.
