  2. I have a spider phobia, I have mostly been able to overcome it but I am absolutely terrified of huntsman spiders. I can't stand hearing any spider being killed. The crunching of their exoskeleton makes me physically nauseas. Most people understand about huntsman fear. I have in several occasions had complete strangers remove them from my car for me. Huntsman spiders in cars is one of the leading causes of car crashes in Australia. I have had someone ask me to get a spider for them before. No way. I completely refused.
  3. We have these varieties of apples Snow Apple King David Mackintosh Granny Smith Pink Lady Gravenstein Orange Pippin Golden Delicious And a self grafted tree with 3 very old varieties we got from a very old man
  4. Was it a large black wasp with a sort of flatish body? They poke holes in the ground and fill them with spiders for their young. If it was it probably has picked a spot near your tap to poke holes and it is trying to get you off its area. Or what it thinks is it's area.
  5. Native wasps are good bugs. They eat things like caterpillars and spiders. I actively encourage native wasps by planting necter flowers as a border around my veggie garden
  6. Could you cover up to water? Is it one of those single native wasps? Not the type that live in a colony?
  7. DH is doing the veggie garden this summer. He likes corn and salad. So he has a lot of it growing . We have cucumbers coming out of our ears Our bee hives are full.and need extracting
  8. I think the chill for fruit trees is over rated. We get absolutely loads of apples and blueberries. We don't get anywhere near as cold as you. We only get about 10 frosts a year Some of the apple trees are types that DH was familiar with from Canada.

  10. Here they have just introduced compulsory driving tests for people over 75 . They have to take the driving test every 2 years. It isn't the full driving test, but the reaction time test part
  11. Here retirement, or superannuation is paid by employers. A percentage of weekly income People paying 50% or so of income on rent aren't living the high life of holidays involving flying, going on cruises or things like that. At least the ones I know personally aren't.
  12. I get once a day text saying my parcel can't be delivered..click on link. It is a well known scam. I have also received a text from the mum my bank card is lost I need money urgently scam.
  13. One of my DS is paying 50% of his income in rent in the tiniest unit. My DS was paying 75% when she was at university ,Not uni accommodation, For a room and one meal a day It is becoming fairly common to need to pay up to 50% of income to get rent here Especially for people living paycheck to paycheck.

  16. None of my children who went to university needed one. The universities were just after marks
  17. So glad that there are some positives to look forward to. I just need to hanging for a few more years to get there. I am in the state of having negative things happening and are definitely at the me needing DH or my kids to look after me. I guess it could be defined as me being a burden. Though I try not to look at it like that.
  18. 2 dresses for granddaughter. I am wondering if my mental confusion is getting worse. I did a lot of unpicking, Multiple times on the same seams
