  1. I have a dear friend with 5 children. Her youngest has multiple special needs as in feeding tube, will probably never walk, talk, see or hear well. She homeschools other 4 but with multiple therapy appts. for youngest she's really overwhelmed. Is there anyone here in similiar situation? How do you manage a day? Is it possible to homeschool elementary kids, middle & high school, be involved at church, have other kids involved in extra curricular and not go insane? I feel bad offering advice when I obviously have no experience. I'm afraid for her health.
  2. I would agree with you that 14 is not old enough to take the reins of his own life. Wondering if it would have made a difference had he come to you and ASK if he could go fishing with ? or if it's a heart attitude at this point? I would calmly explain how you and dh see his life just now and then explain the consequences (loss of phone, etc) if he chooses to continue this path.
  3. I TOTALLY :iagree: I don't 'do' :grouphug: but I think you need one! :grouphug:
  4. This is 'wife' snarkiness and acceptable because I'm the wife. ;) I have the H A R D E S T time offering verbal apologies (pridefulness?) but my dh is amazingly quick and humble about setting things right when he blows it. Especially with the kids, which I think I appreciate more because my dad NEVER apologized and that left me with the thought that he never thought he was wrong and he was seriously wrong about a few things:001_huh:
  5. I called all the docs in my area, explained we'd be paying cash and ask what kind of deal they would give us. THEN I went to the doctor I really wanted, that had originally been the most expensive, and told them the lowest $$ I was offered. She took it! Had to pay payments and be done paying her around 7 months. Also, we didn't tell the hospital that we'd be paying cash until we showed up for birth, otherwise they wanted payments ahead of time too and there was no way we could pay doc and hospital at the same time. BEWARE! Hospital offered us a great deal if we paid a set amount before we left (about 1/2 of what we would have been charged) but if you do an epidural that adds a whole other/separate/very expensive bill. You can waive a LOT of tests but you'll have to sign a paper absolving the doctor of all responsibility if something goes wrong.
  6. Shark Navigator Lift-Away! Oh my goodness! Bagless and does an UNbelievable job. LOVE it!
  7. I just rechecked and the 2nd generation came out in 2006.
  8. Apparently there are two generations of Kia Sedona. The ones 2006 & before had issues but the later ones are rated better. Which year was yours?
  9. The one we're looking at has a the long wheel base option. . . does yours?
  10. Thanks all. We really want honest answers and thoughts so don't hold back. :D
  11. Thank you very much for answering so quickly. I knew I needed to come here for answers like this :)
  12. We're looking at this vehicle and really like what we see but would love to hear from someone who has one. We have 7 people in our family and wondered how comfortable that back seat is with the 60/40 split. Is someone going to be sitting on a 'crack?' TIA!!!!
  13. I'm going to a reunion this weekend and am terrified of the picture thing. Like others, I think I look 'OK' as I leave my mirror but then I see myself in a window or picture and just about die! I'm trying to figure out which one is lying to me. . . the pictures or my mirror :001_smile: (Dear God, Please let it be the pictures. amen)
  14. I'm glad you spoke up. It was good to hear your perspective.
  15. We cooled off considerably. It's low 50's at night and we've had high 70's into low 80's today. AAAHHHH........I love this weather! I should add that we are in Michigan.
  16. That would be a deal breaker for me. I'd have a problem with her having her best friend girl over too. It's the principle of the thing. You are paying her to watch your kids, not visit with her friends.
  17. If he's already written the notes I'd say absolutely ok for someone to help him with the addresses.
  18. We did. Just before the housing crash, my dh just hated the thought of paying someone to do what we could do. It was a very smooth process. We were upfront about EVERYthing! The people only had a mortgage company. Don't know who they got to run titles and such. We didn't make that our business.
  19. Soon we hope to be joining that same club, 2 years or less  CONGRATULATIONS on a job WELL DONE!
  20. My dh has his removed and yet still feels all the same issues as before except the all out attack. This may sound crazy but when I started drinking lots of water I quit feeling that ball under the rib cage thing. Worth a try. I'm sorry you are having to figure all this out. What a nightmare!:grouphug:
