  1. WOW ladies, thank you! I will look into both of these options!
  2. Is that even possible? what is the best way to stay downtown for less? when you consider eating, parking, hotels, etc. TIA
  3. I didn't realize there were so many different things out there for legos and wondered if anyone knows of sites like that for K'Nex? Legos just never caught on here but k'nex are taking over. They spend most of their time coming up with their own designs but I would love to look at sites such as were named for the legos. TIA!
  4. Unless you want to buy the dishwasher with the understanding that it's yours when you leave, then he gets to pick the dishwasher.
  5. :001_smile: that sounds like a very fun and enlightning lunch time. Thanks for the Cheese Cuts info. . . it might come in handy. . . somewhere. . .
  6. I have never heard of a food processor that would grind wheat berries.
  7. I like Jillian's 'Banish the Fat' even more than the 'Shred' She's much nicer in 'Banish' for some reason. . . though I ignore her for the most part. It's a little bit longer but it's set up in circuits (7) so you can pick & choose or just follow the whole thing.
  8. I get mine at the Walmart bakery and the gamma lids have fit them perfectly.
  9. We might be twins seperated at birth! :D Considering I was told at the police station that kids in our small rural school were having 'oral s*x' in the classrooms. . . I'm thinking boring is VERY, VERY good! :001_huh:
  10. My dad had this all the while I was growing up. Very sad to see him miss so much of life. I just wanted to say that he just got out of the hospital yesterday. . . a stay that was caused from bleeding ulcers. . . which most of his doctors agree are caused by all the meds he took/takes for the headaches. I would just caution anyone that, if at all possible, you find a diet change, enviroment change (a lot of good things already mentioned) to help your headaches vs. drugs. Amazingly enough my dad will tell you that he felt best all around when he was off wheat and processed flour anything. He was like a different person, but it was easier to take the drugs :( he'll tell you now that the bleeding ulcers are worse than the headaches.
  11. one ds had night terrors at least 5 times a week for 2 years as a toddler. Someone told us to watch nitrates/nitrites (deli meat, pepperoni, hot dogs, bacon, etc.) He pretty much had Sarah Lee Turkey everyday at lunch because we aren't big meat eaters and I thought I was doing all the good to get him some protein. Within 3 days of no nitrites/nitrates he was sleeping through the night and has ever since. He's now 10. Every once in a while he'll have a wierd 'anger' issue and we can trace it back to food almost every time.
  12. must have been making her crazy for a year that there was never any 'talk' of the inappropriate advice or she's been waiting all year for you to attack back. Kind of funny in a way in that regard ;)
  13. Yes, that is true for me. I can multitask the mindless things but the majors really mess me up. Teaching + keeping house clean = mean mom, frugal living + teaching = less than stellar students, etc. I can't imagine adding a paying outside job to that. I think a previous poster had good advice. Set a timer and have a set time for school, when the timer goes off school is done, no matter what. Set a timer--housecleaning/laundry, when the timer goes off STOP. I was just thinking in the shower this morning that I need some type of timer to carry with me. One to time my tasks the other just to remind me I HAD another task. . . I get to the end of the day sometimes and wonder why more didn't get done. . .I just forgot it. All this to say. . I feel your dilema and I hope you get some good advice.:bigear:
  14. These are great and sound like what I would write. Having a menu would also fulfill the other goals I would write. 1) save our family money 2) eat more healthy meals 3) keep the 5:00 'what are we having for dinner' panic at bay ;) Laundry ending up where it belongs would 1) alliviate the stress I feel when I see laundry 'every where' 2) would allow me to get to my dresser without moving stuff in the mornings. :blushing:
  15. anything Francine Rivers Dee Henderson Terri Blackstock Brock & Bodie Theone
  16. Except for a once a month rollerskating we are home. Even on that day we get school done first. We used to do more, co-ops, group field trips and in the end. . . we were just stressed. Home works!
  17. I can't run on pavement any more, it kills my knees and feet. Of course I'm also 47 years old and have abused my knees. I just stick to the treadmill now.
  18. I suffered a few years ago from panicky like attacks, even ended up in the ER thinking I was having a heart attack. There was a LOT going on in my life. Besides praying and not having caffeine, the biggest difference was made when I started exercising. Not for anything other than stress control. Almost 5 years later and if I lay off for more than 2 months I can see how my ability to handle stress (even daily kid stuff) starts going down the tubes. I used the C25K only because it gave me goals and encouragement for each day, I would say a walk every day would do you good.
  19. I have the hand crank Family Grain mill and love it. Of course my dh made a chuck that would fit it and I use his electric drill to run it. Kids don't mind cranking it but it takes a while longer and when I think of using fresh grain I'm usually ready 'Right Then!" :D btw, I got it on Craigslist for $75.
  20. I'm just jealous that you have chicken pox. We need it one more time here. . . . watch 'educational' videos for a day or two, read-alouds and call it school.
  21. :iagree:I agree, thrift stores usually have lots and I even scored the above Zujirushi for $13.00!!!!
