  1. How long should you keep your personal bank statements? Cleaning out filing cabinet.
  2. Have you tried this site or this one? They are the same site but different parts. It has helped me find some relatives I couldn't find before.
  3. :thumbup1: aahhh very nice :) Wanna come do mine? They sure aren't nice.
  4. Another hot and humid day here. Heat index is suppose to be 116* :tongue_smilie: again. I hate leaving my blinds closed but anything to help keep out the heat. Even put my draft stoppers I use in the winter down to see if they will block out any heat seeping in. We are staying in as much as possible. Dh just asked me if I was going to the store today. I told him "not if I can help it" :) He wanted me to pick up something but it isn't urgent so it can wait. Lots more movies, allowing kiddos to do more indoors than normal (house gets kinda loud sometimes but got to get some of that energy out somehow) Meals have been really simple things that don't require the oven.
  5. Usually on the same isle as the water, flavored water, cold coffee drinks etc. Sold at most stores. Walmart and regular grocery is all I know since that is all we have here.
  6. I have baseball players and get their stuff at Dick's or Hibbetts. Both are priced about the same. Pay $25-$30 for sliders.
  7. Oh y'all are making me hungry....especially for some :lurk5:. Of course if I fix any my popcorn loving child will smell it and get out of bed. :glare: That child loves popcorn as much as mama. Depends on my mood but some of my favorite evening snacks are: popcorn ice cream peanut butter sandwich and glass of milk chips and salsa hand full of almonds bowl of cereal (cheerios is my fav)
  8. Yep I feel that way alot. Oh yeah I know alot of trashy people that are way better off financially than us. They may have big houses full of nice new furniture and wear designer clothes, drive nice new vehicles and take lots of vacations but their attitude is trashy. Our house is decorated like this. Nothing matches and some of it is really old. But hey we aren't sitting on the floor ;) Peach is good :tongue_smilie: I love tomato sandwiches :drool5:
  9. I know how much lint one of those "Dummies" books make  ALOT :001_rolleyes: mp3 player --dried it to and no it doesn't work anymore nuts and bolts rocks chapstick packs of gum crayons ds's wallet matchbox cars
  10. Walmart has the 15cents. You are probably looking for cheaper but that is all I have seen.
  11. I don't budget either. I sale shop but I try to keep the total low though. If ground beef is on sale this week, I buy extra. The next time it might be chicken. I do the same with all things. Having the nice supply has helped when we have hit hard times. Or when friends or family hit hard times. We might not be able to give them money but I have gone shopping from the pantry and freezer to share with them.
  12. :iagree: I had brothers, lots of guy friends and now boys. Oh yeah boys eat lots of food. :w00t: Do you remember the Discover card commercial where the mom of boys looks in the fride, empty. Goes to store then repeat.
  13. I usually have 1 a year. I don't make a lot but like having the few extra $'s. Sometimes I pay a bill, sometimes we go out to eat, sometimes I buy school books with it. Like previous poster I pretty much do a set price. Most of my stuff is small but I end up having alot of stuff since several people usually find out I am having a yard sale and donate to it. One year I had tons of children's clothes. I said all children's clothes were 25cents. People went crazy.
  14. I was given a cabinet similar to this. It has 3 shelves behind the doors. Board games are stored in the top part. Card games are stored in 1 of the drawers.
  15. Do you ever put the pickle slices on the sandwich before grilling? Very good. My bunch asks for grilled cheese with pickles all the time.
  16. Usually sandwiches or leftovers. Sometimes combos get really werid as I am trying to use up the last of this and that.
  17. As a child I ALWAYS had to take dramamine before a trip. (You didn't want to be in the car with me if I didn't :ack2: ) I have given my kiddos the regular and the non drowsy kind. Regular when I couldn't find the non drowsy. Anyway one of mine doesn't usually get car sick but we found out real quick he gets bus sick. Don't know what it is about the bus but it gets him every time. I would give her a trial run just to be on the safe side. I totally understand not wanting to give meds for the 1st time and you not being there.
  18. This may not be a popular idea but I take ds to the chiropactor. I didn't realise a chiro could help but it has. He was to the point where he was taking alot of meds daily. I read about the chiro and started taking him. In a few weeks he was down to no meds. The first couple days they seemed worse then it was like things started lining up and he cleared up. He has really bad allergies in fall and spring. During those times he still takes an occcasional allergy pill but otherwise he is fine. The cost worked out to about the same as the cost of all the meds he was taking.
  19. Around here some area churches and community groups are taking up school supplies and filling backpacks to give to children that can't afford their school supplies. There are various drop off points around town for the items. So if you have a few extra $$ and want to help others you can. If you are really broke and can't afford your child's school supplies you can get help.
  20. Those lists just shock me. I remember way back when I was in elementary school. We would go register and get the list at school. Then we would do a mad dash to the store (where everyone else was at too). Picked out the items on the list (1 box crayons, 2 pencils, 1 bottle glue, 2 notebooks, 2 folders of your choice etc). Went home and mom wrote our names on everything. If you needed something else during the year you told your mom. High school was much the same except dad might drop me off at the store with money and tell me to get what I needed.
  21. With us hsing I don't worry about clothes. When at home you are allowed to wear whatever you want. Doesn't matter if it matches or has a stain. Of course if we leave the house you need to have on something decent that matches. If they were in school they I would have to buy them uniforms (khakis and solid polos and a belt) They would also have to have a certain type jacket, special gym shoes and gym clothes.
  22. My guys have only had Walmart bikes. Ds1 got a NEXT 5 years ago for his birthday. He rode it for about 3 years then decided he wanted a mountain bike. So little brother inherited the NEXT. Ds2 rode the NEXT until a couple months ago when he recieved a new bike (another NEXT from walmart) for his birthday. Nothing was or is wrong with the 1st bike. Well the seat is a little torn from a wreck and it is gonna need a new tire. Ds1 got a new bike (another NEXT from walmart) after he figured out he didn't like the mountain bike. Btw ds1 was given both of these bikes, we didn't pay for them. Ds2 had never had a new bike and asked for 1 for his birthday. The old NEXT is still out in the shed. When they have friends over there is an extra bike now. All that to say we have had good luck with the walmart bikes and they are ridden daily.
  23. Last few years I have mixed up cookie dough, rolled it into a log and either partially frozen and sliced or just sliced right after rolling (depending on how soft it was). After slicing I put on a cookie sheet and pop back in freezer until totally frozen. Take off and put in ziplock bags or containers that have the baking instructions on them. Put back in freezer until time to give out present. These have really worked great for grandparents who want a fresh baked cookie but not a whole batch.
