    I think it's great your dd is into arts and crafts. I would make a place for her to do that where she could leave out things she's working on, and keep the table clear for meals. IOW, encourage her in the art stuff by giving her her own space. Yet, have the meals together for the family encouragement. Best of both worlds. ;)
