  1. I'm going to my nephew's Birthday party. Unfortunately we don't know him extremely well, but I'm wanting something more than an iTunes card.... He has a MacBook Pro with some music program..... I was thinking of small speakers... He likes Chess... He has a snake... I only found out about the party on Friday.... I have to purchase something local. I have Target type stores, a mall, etc...
  2. Well, my mom has ovarian cancer. I would tell you..... look for an Naturopathic Oncologist to help your body deal with all the chemo. Of course, you know to eat organic....(especially the "Dirty Dozen") My mom only eats sugar on chemo days for about 20 hours after it starts pumping. She has a port in her arm; it's been very convenient and really helps with the discomfort. She does a whole regimen. I think she'd email you, if you'd like to pm me with your email address. She's dealt with this for a year and a half. Really sorry for you!!
  3. So excited!! My first phone iphone ships November 2nd... :) Yay... watching for great apps!! :)
  4. Then wouldn't the landlord have to mitigate his damages and return the $$$$???? Different states... different laws, I guess ;(
  5. My words from the article.. When I lived next to a couple from England, I used the words around their kids... So... kinda use or joke... from the tap... plaster, ice lolly, and of course... Love.... :)"love, do such and such... lovie..." :) Autumn, Yup :) Bloody, No, as I hear it's more of the "F" word, I did use it more before I heard that. I also have a hard time saying, "Rear Ended" as that isn't what I want to think of... once my friend told me what that meant... Bum, Not really, I say "Tush" from my New Jersey days of being a nanny Chav, nope Cheeky, Nope... I say Fresh or sassy or just... rude Cheers, nope... I thought... How cool... right before it I realized it was popular, but then noticed my husband's ex-wife was signing her emails with "Cheers"... Fancy, nope... not in this way... Gap year, sometimes.. Gobsmacked, not really... a couple times for emphasis... or fun :) Holiday, yes... I like this one :) Back from my English Friends... Innit, nope Kit, nope Knickers, nope Loo, nope Mate, nope Mobile, nope Muppet, nope Numpty, nope Pop over, yes Proper, sometimes Queue, no Roundabout, yes, as we have them now... Row, no Shag, no Skint, no Sussed, no Twit, yes Wonky, no
  6. Peaceful Parenting is totally possible, when children are asleep and I have chocolate and maybe some wine :)
  7. Adding... I know that one of my dogs has had infections before, but I don't remember the ear wash/drop thing for it. I think it was an oral antibiotic....
  8. I'm thinking that it's something you might be able to treat with an antibiotic shot. That would be less in the long run, if it works. Then, when your dog is better, you might try drops/wiping out the ear with one of the preventions for ear infections. (To stop yeast growth) If you have to do the drops, I would do it like the vet will probably do it if you take it in. I would look at is like a small cat :) I would take a towel and basically wrap it around the neck and everything to the tail.... Then have a helper keep the head to one side... drop in the drop and flip it over. I would explain it better, but I think you can figure it out :) I've watched YouTube before for some puppy help :) Good Luck!! :0
  9. I have these Mounds like bars, actually, Oskri Coconut w/ Milk Chocolate. I need something to do with them, besides just eat them as is. I'd love some recipes to make them into..... something else :) Ideas?? :)
  10. I remember being asked "Why" when I said I needed to go to the restroom. I stuttered... "Because I have to pee".... And that got the class laughing at me :( (5th grade, btw)
  11. I knew someone who spanked their kids if they had to leave during the meeting... Hmmmm.... Nice parents, just didn't understand.... I seriously have to leave almost every time I'm out. I am SOOOOOO glad I can't get spanked for it... (or demerits....)
  12. Me, Me, Me!!! :) I've been trying to "Clean" one room at a time... keep the ones clean, clean... and then pick another spot :) I really want to have a house where people can drop by, and I don't faint. I also want my kids to bring home friends and have a clean house and warm cookies :) I'm trying!!!
  13. Weird... My son... after being confused for a sec because he wanted to be back playing computer, said "Forty-six and 6/10ths :)"
  14. Some problems may be that he's having vision issues (tracking) not the same as saying he needs glasses. He may be dyslexic. He may have an Attention Issue. My son is helped with medication, and he can concentrate more, now. For math, Singapore Math would a good math program if you don't have a math curriculum. I know someone from Japan that learned English very well by listening to good cds. He particularly listened to some that would not work for you, but I would think that the Story of the World would be good to listen to as well as some others that are simple to understand. Good Luck!!!
  15. Oh gosh!! :( Praying for her!! If you're the research type of person, Metronomically measured Chemo has been good for my mom. 1/2 as much, 2x as many times. It's made it so she feels good and it constantly smushes the cancer cells down. My mom is lasting as long as she can, and feeling healthy so far while doing it.... You're a sweetie to ask a whole lotta people to pray for her!! :)
  16. Yup, "Tens Column"... 3.... How many tens?? 43 :) BTW, it may very well be that her teacher has to be shown the importance of wording :) Seriously!! It's like "Ten" and "Tin", hearing the difference isn't always obvious... to everyone :)
  17. :iagree: Maybe something like, "Bummer, guess we're not having tea soon"
  18. So sorry :( I know that it sucks to lose friends. I've lost all my friends that I had, except for one. All the work that I've done for the groups I've started, have not just come back to an "even" point, but rather a "negative" :( Seriously, I thought that by now I would have a small circle of friends, and I have none. I know exactly how it feels to be at a loss. To realize that others stink and so do I :( Still looking for a "true blue" friend that I can do things with.... Can't give up hope!!! :)
  19. Hmmm.... what's the legal take on this? Do they have a legal custody arrangement with a parenting plan in place? While you're "poor" it's a perfect time to seek legal aid and have him served. It serves more than one purpose. For one thing, you have a "middle man" who takes money from the guy and gives it to your daughter. No control issues get to exist.... Also, I'm surprised that they get a ton of time. Here it'd be at the max, every other wknd and a night (just the evening period) every week or every other week. I'm not sure what I'd send. I like organic everything, so it'd be hard to have them feed the baby nasty stuff... :( Sorry... it stinks... one of the reasons I'm glad I'm far, far way from my daughter's bio family... Who wants to deal with the stink? :(
  20. I probably wouldn't have let her know that I read it, I'd keep that part to myself. BUT, I wouldn't want it out there next to her name. There are other spots for online diaries. I would want to have passwords for everything. That being said, I know that my daughter has a spot she writes on with my step-daughter. I don't like it... but if it's something I can't see... and others can't find it... I'll deal with it... For your daughter, I'd remind her that EVERYONE can see hers that knows her... even the crushes and her teachers...
  21. Wow, perhaps they expect to pay for it or were joking? When I was 14yrs old I volunteered at a nursing home and knew that I'd never want my parents there. If my parents live to be old enough that they need care, I'll for sure take care of them. (unless I can't because they require more care than a normal dedicated adult child can give) Regretfully, my mom probably won't live long enough for that, as she has cancer. I'll be caring for her during her 60's as much as I can.... My father, well, if he needs care I'll be there. My husband's mom is living and 80yrs old. She's states and states away, so if I cared for her... I'd have to move there. I'm pretty sure that when she needs care it would be beyond my capabilities. We're kinda broke, but if she paid for our flight... or it was an emergency, I'd happily go stay with her for a few months. (I'd have to figure out some home things..)
  22. But, said gently, the naysayers are saying what they do... out of love and care for you and your family. They have lived through experiences that you don't want to have to live through. They have had their children attacked physically or emotionally. Remember that it can take quite a while to see a RAD child pull out their issues.... Good behavior can mask what you'll see later. That's why it's important, should you choose to take the risk, that you spend the time learning about RAD to make sure you know how to deal with it and to see the early symptoms. I know someone who has had their family just shaken over the foster/adopt of a really cute little kid who didn't turn out to be so cute. She still has things to work through years after the adoption and even though things have been dealt with in a different way than some would agree with. (Trying for not too much personal info about someone else) Anyway, I have to say that I'd leave my family alone and volunteer for some children's home or something. Maybe do respite care, if anything, for the foster system. :grouphug:
  23. That's great! Here they won't hire 14 year olds... have to be 16 or older... (at places like A&W) :) Good for both of you!! :)
