Yup, I'm thinking every day. Yup, I'm wishing that I didn't need to think about $$$ but I do. I'm trying to think of the best job, best hours, best family life, and best day/night for him. Even though I have teens, they aren't available. They are in activities each day after school. So, it's like a singleton :) I'm trying to balance what school would do to/for him, versus being in a caregiver's home... perhaps... (as the oldest, since it'd be during school time)... Lots of decisions...

Hmmm.... still thinking about this. He likes to stay up super late and doesnt' necessarily even wake up until 10 or so if he's allowed to... So he'd be awake maybe a couple of hours or so, if I let it go like that... :) I'm totally not worried about school work, since that's a non-issue at this point. (I'll handle that in the hours we're together, if necessary) I've thought about him doing some IXL or other computer based things which he'd probably be willing to do) :) He's willing to obey safety rules, without being resistant...

In a really small town, how old would your son have to be... to have you leave him for 4 hrs a day? How about 8 hrs a day? No worries... I'm not doing this tomorrow... Just planning :) This is in a very safe neighborhood... and with him wanting it, not forced.... (Talking about if he'd rather be at home doing things than in school) Just curious, you don't need to flame me, unless it'd help your day go better :)

My dad went through when I was 12yrs old. Seriously a hellish 3yrs; I think it takes 4yrs now. I'd work and put my kids in public school to make the finances easier, I think. (no working for a first year law student) It's like a MIA dad for 3yrs.... My dad's great and he's used the degree for work all these years later, but it was hard and took a toll. A fun fact is, he went when he was told that he wouldn't have a job at the college he taught at... if he homeschooled us. So... off to get a JD with Constitutional law as the specialty.. Night :) -
Rant on hunting season
SonshineLearner replied to clarkacademy's topic in General Education Discussion Board
This isn't legal in OR. You'd have to call the Reservation, I believe. Anyway, you can't just pop it in your trunk and take it to the butcher. You can pretty much just leave it. I have heard of someone who broke the neck, just so it wouldn't have to suffer :( (Couldn't shoot it, either in the city or without his gun...) We have a few at a time run in front of our cars pretty often... -
Rant on hunting season
SonshineLearner replied to clarkacademy's topic in General Education Discussion Board
I've never heard of normal hunters hunting and then leaving their kill. That's weird. Even if you don't eat it, I'd think you'd have someone lined up for it.... ME!ME!ME!.... One deer would be perfect for my dog :) -
I'm going to church tomorrow
SonshineLearner replied to SeekingSimplicity's topic in General Education Discussion Board
The Methodist church where our co-op met had a very kind pastor. My suggestion is to go to the church, but on your own read the Bible. Read it with the intent to know God. Pray for discernment and for understanding about what God wrote. Pray to understand what the Bible means to God and not "What does this mean to me?"(since we are asking what the Author of the book meant :)) Although, of course, "What does God want for me to learn from this passage?" would be a great question. The church that we met at had lovely church music, and I almost drove in just to listen to it :) And... I love Pastor Jon :) Hope yours is wonderful! :) -
It's sad for the ones who aren't the spouse, but very usual for men to marry soon. If he's respectful of you, I would suck it up and go on. My Uncle married a person that my Aunt and He had mutually known for 30 years within a year of my Aunt's death, I think. It was a bit awkward and we don't get to see him much, but they are happy. (It's my "Uncle in Law") Anyway, it's hard, but when you get on up there in years... I suppose... you just want someone to be with watching tv... It'll get easier... Take small bites :) Hugs...

Let's play the (middle) name game
SonshineLearner replied to JeneralMom's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Seriously?? The poor child has to have these as her names... Like alternatives to her first name if she doesn't care for it. None of those are names... With a name that is so common and beautiful, I would leave one name for my child in case they're jealous. Persiphone is decent sounding, but it's gonna be a bear as a name. I'd use at least one of the most common names from the list. Moira Edith is what I'd use I would use that one... Persiphone Moira Edith something.... I actually think Moira is pretty and would switch that to her first name, but that's just me. It's kinda in style to use names that are unusual right now... I guess the problem with announcing it before hand, is people feel the need to tell you their opinion... Sorry :( -
The newest way of thinking about life after diagnosed is "Living with Cancer".... Who cares if you've been diagnosed if you're here for another 40+yrs :) Cancer cells do have the potential to grow very quickly, which is why keeping the chemo treatments low dose but more often can work. If it is anything like my mom's chemo, she has only felt sick a couple of days and her energy level is probably around 90% or so of where it was pre-chemo. Her only real look that has changed is thin hair, which is sad but not worth having her die sooner. She has made it as long as her original prognosis. She caught it much later and it was different than yours. But seriously, I know how scary it is.... from my perspective.... and we have always been so natural. BUT, it's just nothing to leave alone.... Hugs...

I would suggest Chemo. Seriously, it just stinks... it's poison, but for anything ovarian related, I would suggest it. I already pm'md you a while back, I think. BUT, I would suggest having metronomically measured chemo. Basically you have it 2x as often, twice as much. My mom's doctor has been so impressed with the results, that she's commented more than once that she's going to have to review protocol for her other patients. When you do chemo, they see your numbers and then how it's doing. You'll know in pretty short order how your count is. Please consult a Oncologist Naturopath for immunity/health support while you're undergoing this... And think about The Modified Citrus Pectin the place I got the MCP was Life Extension Foundation, LEF.org I have a whole email that I've made about health things, if you want it, from our studies... Also, my mom has a port in her arm which has been MUCH better than other choices... I'm truly, so very sorry about this... but I think for most everyone that is at this spot, chemo gives the best chance...

Not so great 18 month check up :(
SonshineLearner replied to Mom in High Heels's topic in General Education Discussion Board
Get whole hemp seeds and ground them then put in the freezer. Figure out some different things you can mix it with. Peanut Butter, anything "Earthy"... something like Nutella ;) It has 11grams of protein for 3 tbs. :) He can't have yogurt, right? If so, Wallaby's full fat yogurt is 23grams of protein per 1cup. Rudy's (organic) english muffins have 5grams of protein for 1 serving. That's some of what I did to pack on some weight... :) -
