  1. Apparently your friend isn't a pushover except when it comes to her children.
  2. Who said the lockers and cubes were for "littles" anyway? You wouldn't use those until the child was older.
  3. My first vehicle was an early 70's Mercury Bobcat. It was white with a red, orange, and yellow strip down each side. I loved that car. My boyfriend (eventually my first husband and the father of my daughter) didn't put oil in it like I told him to when he borrowed it and he burned out the engine. :glare:
  4. Before assuming I am wrong, try looking up the definition of "culture" in an old dictionary.
  5. Culture has lost all meaning. What the true definition of culture is isn't taken into account anymore. Now it is just whatever crazy thing the young people choose to come up with and call their "own culture" is what it is.
  6. There is no celebration going on in our house. :glare:
  7. I've never heard of a teen being revoked driving privileges for having an accident. Unless the teen deliberately went out and wrecked the vehicle... it is what it is ... an accident. My sister would never have driven again if my parents had punished her for having an accident. That's a new one to me. My parents were very strict with us growing up. And even they never made us pay for gas or insurance. And they certainly NEVER punished us for having an accident with one of their vehicles. It seriously makes me wonder why some of you became parents in the first place. I guess maybe it is beyond your comprehension that having an accident isn't deliberate and IS a part of learning how to drive. You can't expect them to be perfect from the beginning and you can't expect them to learn how to be a safer driver by not driving.
  8. I'm one of the old stick in the mud people who think 12 year olds don't need cell phones. I see how addicted my 26 year old daughter is and sometimes I wish she didn't have one.
  9. My mother and daughter went over to my sister's house for a cookout. My brother and sister-in-law from Steamboat Springs are also over there. I had sinus and deviated septum surgery on Thursday so am not up to going anywhere yet. My brother and sister-in-law came over and visited with me yesterday so at least I got to see them. I hadn't seen them since last year when my father passed away. My big plans for today are to watch baseball and eat the potato salad they left me (not that anything actually tastes like anything right now LOL).
  10. And I think responses like yours are why bullying still goes on. People make excuses for other's behavior when shoving is NOT acceptable no matter how much anyone wants it to be ... "just an accident" or whatever!!!!!
  11. I think if people would stop making such a big deal about race and color, the world would be a lot better place. This also applies to people who won't live in an area because it is all white people. Live where you like and don't concentrate on what race the people around you are. If anything, whites are the ones being discriminated against now.
  12. LET IT GO ... LET IT GO ... LET IT GO!!! (from Frozen)
  13. I certainly hope none of your children EVER make any mistakes... of course then YOU will probably forgive them, but NO one else should since YOU don't (if it is someone else's child... especially if you already hate the family anyway).
  14. OP, I think you can tell from many of the responses you received that A LOT of parents don't care one wit what their child of ANY age views or is exposed to... so I guess the answer is no... parents either don't realize or in most cases don't care what goes on with their children... after all.. aren't most 10 year olds adults now days anyway (in the eyes of the parents)? (said in my most sarcastic tone)
  15. I agree this was not a good thing, but I'm sad to see that so many of you would obviously never accept an apology from someone for something they did many many years ago. I feel for your mates and your children and hope they never do anything to disappoint you because you would probably hold it against them for the rest of their life.
  16. If the Pats deserve to be punished this harshly, then the two teams who were caught illegally warming up the balls with the heater on the sideline should also be punished.
  17. And yet they said that the Pats were totally cooperative... Goodell is a liar and just wanted to punish them because they beat his beloved Seahawks. If you actually watched the presentation of the trophy after the Super Bowl, and if you were actually looking at it realistically, you could tell that Goodell hated giving the trophy to the Pats. HE was rooting for the Seahawks (even to the point of ignoring the fact that the refs GAVE them the championship game which got them to the Super Bowl in the first place). For the record, I don't like either of these two teams.
  18. I don't have to use anything anymore, but when I did I used both pads and tampons. The tampons I only used for the first two or three days each month though. They were especially helpful at night. I think it really depends on what brand of tampons you get. The one's with the cardboard applicator are awful. I always got the ones with the plastic applicator. My daughter who is 26 also uses both.
  19. Never have been. I think it really depends on who you are married to and how mentally sane they are. If they aren't sane, it doesn't take long for you to join them... and then flee.
  20. Because then I would be confined to a wheel chair so there would be no more pressure on my knees... maybe it was above the kneecaps. It's so confusing.
  21. Riots do occur when certain teams win or lose whether it be college or pro. YOUR credibility suffers from you lack of information.
