I think it is a newer program but Friendly Chemistry and Friendly Biology may have been out longer. I'm just looking for a physical science that is NOT Apologia for upcoming 9th grader. Sebastian (a lady) Posted December 23, 2021 Share Posted December 23, 2021 I'm not familiar with Friendly Physical Science, but you don't have to do physical science. You could just start with Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. Often biology is a first high school science course, because it doesn't require mastery of algebra. Physical science is often a mix of geology, chemistry, and physics taught at a conceptual (low math) level. I did Conceptual Physical Science by Hewitt with one of my 8th graders. I had a slightly older text and was able to find the matching study guide, which we used for assignments. Looking online, it seems that the current title is Conceptual Integrated Science. Another option is The Science: An Integrated Approach. You could also choose to do an alternate such as Earth Science, Environmental Science, Forensics, Zoology, Astronomy, or other science of interest.
