Christmas marketplace? Let's support each other!

Bumping because I am sure it will help someone. I am considering selling some gift items for Christmas, but I am not there yet.

I do have some suggestions for good causes to support if you'd like those as well (just tag me if you'd like me to chime in). For example, one is a family local to me that uses their business to fund non-covered medical costs they experience (things like hotels, gas, meals while their child is in the hospital). Additionally, they started a charitable organization, funded partially through their business that provides this kind of financial support for other families whose children have related disorders with corresponding medical expenses. They do fundraisers for band programs and things like that too. Purchases go to at least 2, if not 3 good causes. 🙂

I do have an Etsy shop (The Purple Quill) but I think it is empty right now. 🤭 It was madness in April/May while everyone was buying cloth masks. I couldn’t keep up and all my masks sold out in a few hours.

I have an Etsy shop! I started it during the pandemic. I have always loved to sew, giving handmade gifts is my love language!

I am also super frugal and practical and like to repurpose. So those things all came together to become my shop-FabricSpeaks!

Here's an upcycled wool zippered pouch, just as a sample!

I also love my own happy birthday, give thanks, and merry christmas banners, and I make them for my shop too!

And in an effort to be sustainable, I use up the scrap fabric to make notecards, or Christmas cards (below)

I have autoimmune disease and this shop is my small way to contribute to my family finances. Thanks for stopping by!

https://www.claytonscandies.com/   This is the family I mentioned upthread.

Another good one: www.highlandchocolate.org   Their workforce is adults with disabilities and their job coaches/supervisors. We've toured their facility, and our tour guide was an enthusiastic and knowledgeable young man with Down Syndrome. It was a very fun experience.

I have an Etsy shop, too.  Normally I sell whirligig cake toppers, but since the pandemic hit I shifted to face mask ear savers.  They are decorative glass pins which can be affixed to a favorite baseball cap or sturdy beanie, mainly in neutral colors because my teen boys thought that a lot of the ear savers on Etsy were too conspicuous.

I'll probably start back up with the cake toppers in the spring -- of course if you are interested now, feel free to send me a message.  I have more designs than are shown here.

bookmarked it. Love the idea of Christmas bags instead of the battle with paper and the waste.

One year for a book club Christmas exchange one friend wrapped all of her presents in outdated AAA maps.  It was so clever and festive!

Also, I painstakingly melted the pitch out of an armful of those huge sugar pine cones to give to my uncle and aunt for decorative fire starters one year, and to wrap them I bought a super cheap burlap feed sack at the hardware store and tied the top with some wide wire ribbon (the country style kind that Costco has sometimes, about 4-5 inches wide.). It looked GREAT, and everything was reusable.

I bought napkins and coasters just last June from you. Awesome experience! You even included an adorable handmade card. The four coasters (Rooster themed) was a gift for my sister-in-law who raises chickens!

I also LOVE your gift bags!!

My daughter has a vintage shop on Instagram.  I made a separate post earlier, but, since I don't post much, I'm afraid people thought it was a scam.  She puts a lot of time into searching for neat items to sell.  There might be something that would make a fun and unusual gift for someone.

Anyway, we'd appreciate it if you could take a look, and here's the link to her shop:  https://www.instagram.com/silvertabbyvintage/

Oh my goodness! I had those white butterflies hanging in my bedroom when I was little! Home Interiors, I think? How fun! And I love the owls.

ETA: Her cat is gorgeous, too! Alas, I cannot see all the items because I don't have an Instagram account.

As I am not teaching tutorial classes this year because of Covid,  I just opened an Etsy shop too 🙂

MyDandelionsGifts: https://www.etsy.com/shop/MyDandelionsGifts

I have only advertised to my friends on Facebook and now here. There are so many shops and so many beautiful things for sale that is hard to compete!  I have sold one of my Red Bunnies but that is all. I don't have much stock,  and I don't want to invest in advertising, so it is what it is.

If you are looking for cuddliest for someone check it out!

This is the Etsy shop of a homeschooling mama I know. She - with the help of her kids - forage the materials for dyes and then hand dye the beads in large batches so they can be assembled. I don't know her well, but I'm a little in awe of this.

Their art is beautiful! And I'm in awe of your glasses. 🙂
