Night Elf
I've got ground beef thawed for spaghetti tonight. Can I use alfredo sauce instead of tomato sauce? I've had alfredo with chicken but not ground beef. It seems like it would be weird.
OneStepAtATime
I've done it and it tasted fine...but I'm weird. 😀
wintermom
I'm not much help, because anything with alfredo sauce just seems yuck to me. ;) Ground beef seems super yuck, though. Chicken would be better.
AK_Mom4
I prefer spaghetti noodles with Alfredo to tomato based sauce and usually put ground beef or beef meatballs in it. Sounds fine to me!
Mimm
I love alfredo sauce but that seems yucky to me. Try it and tell us how it works! :)
Night Elf
I asked DH and he said he was willing to try it. I really don't like tomato based foods so when we have spaghetti I just eat the noodles with butter. I thought trying alfredo sauce would be something I might like. Would you still add onions, green peppers and garlic? I usually saute the and mix them in with the tomato sauce.
lewber
There are some recipes out there for cheeseburger spaghetti that sound similar. Maybe look up something like that and see if they sound good to you.
The Girls' Mom
I think it would be fine. I make a similar "stroganoff" recipe that isn't terribly far from alfredo sauce. It is delicious. I might leave the green peppers out, but onion and garlic would definitely be good.

I wouldn't use onions or peppers, period. Butter, milk, parmesan, garlic, salt, pepper, and parsley. The end. But, if it's a jar or mix, it's probably already heavily seasoned. Carrie12345
As far as the meat, I wouldn't plan to pair red meat with white sauce, but I'd do it in a pinch. I'm not really one to ask though, since I pair white (or pink) wine with everything, no matter what anyone else says!
Barb_
I think it sounds pretty awful even though I adore stroganoff.
Janie Grace
It sounds yuck to me but I have kids who eat this all the time. We are split down the middle when it comes to red/white sauce preferences, and the white sauce family members eat it with anything, including ground beef or sausage (which I would only eat with red). I call it homemade hamburger helper. You could also add mushrooms, grated carrot, and/or peas. If you add peas, skip the green pepper. My kids love this kind of thing. I tolerate it. Tanaqui
Don't see why it would be a problem.
AnniePoo
Sounds fine. It's really good.
Night Elf
I took the easy way out. I bought Prego alfredo sauce. We sauteed onions and garlic, added them to the ground beef and then added in the jar sauce. It was just okay. If I decide to try this again, I'm going to make the sauce myself.
