Yes, you should!  Mine were actually purchased for ds8 (Mr. Sensory Dude) but I get far more use out of them than he does.  They've kept me from being shipped off to the funny farm.

ETA: Well, golly.  In honor of Junie, I am allowing her access to my account so that she can have this space.

Aaaaaaand..........Junie says BOOYAH!

ETA:  Well done, Junie.  WELL DONE.   :hurray:

Hey...  Quit putting words (and letters) in my mouth!!

I will make up my own mind in my own good time.

Who's the Mom around here?  I'm telling!!

Before I go to bed....

Susan. You have failed to report in a loooong long time. Are you still flossing? Or do you not care until your next dental cleaning is one week away?

Bingo!

Really, though, I have flossed more often than not and have also used that pointy thing a couple of times. I go into a bit of panic over any dental-related thoughts due to having forgotten 6 months ago that my 2 youngest both needed a cavity dealt with and now dd6's tooth is in danger of having nerve damage and needs to see a pediatric dental specialist and I am the most horrible, mindless mom in existence and don't even deserve teeth, wooden or otherwise.

We had three straight days of cold, grey, crappy rain in Connecticut this week, after a summer so dry that I started to worry about the woods around our house. Of course, it's still nearly in the 70s at night with just two weeks to go to Thanksgiving. The weather is so messed up and has been for close to 15 years now. I remember working at Cigna a decade and a half ago and walking into the office in January wearing a T-shirt because it was 75 and thinking "Well I guess Indian Summer comes after Christmas now."

I'm not wearing pants yet. I will before leaving for work, though.

No kids! (except my own)

I am guessing you have remedied that situation by now? (The pants, not the kids:-)

You people are throwing the term usurper around way too freely. It takes great skill to be a quality usurper. I will be holding classes later today.

And I am the mom.

That is all.

(And have a beautiful day:-)

Good Morning, All!

Could someone from Texas please send water wings?  We are being deluged by an "atmospheric river."  It's set to last through the weekend, with round two scheduled for the beginning of next week.  Rain, rain, Go Away! Mama wants snow today!

How about these?

Mark, I feel the same way. I think the district consultant is coming today.

Ninja elephant throat puncher at your service.  I was up all night practicing my throat punching skills, and they are honed to a razor sharp point.  Now I'm geeked up on coffee and adrenaline.

The Real Sleep Report:  Did what I do and got the results I get.

I overhauled my English class last night so wish me luck today.  I took an exemplary paragraph, cut it into the IEW parts, and then glued them on color-coded construction paper.  I also got rid of the part of the class in which we discuss student outlines.  It just seemed too embarrassing, though it was in the curriculum.  I boiled down the paragraphs into simple language, and I gave a bullet point page of suggestions.  Teaching this essay process reminds me of my boys going through pre-algebra.  It was all they had ever learned and then some used all together.  Mistakes were made.  We overcame.  I really love my little class.

Renai, what did you do to deserve your very own district consultant?  Is there no one else in the school system for her to harass?

I wish I knew. I think she's bored. At a meeting a couple of weeks ago, the dc was trying to say how much she wanted to visit to give me "support." The other district person at that meeting reminded her she had 9 other sites to take care of, too, and prioritize what is really needed. I could of kissed her, except she gets on my nerves as well. Although not as much as dc because I hardly ever see her.

Spitballing here:  She sounds like a real pain in the patootie.  Is it possible that you're the only one who is nice and will listen to her?  I.e., everyone else has gotten fed up with her and told her to pound sand?

I have told her more than once that she does not respect me or listen to anything I say. Things come out of her mouth as though she is the one that thought of it, although I may have just finished saying it. I say it in one line, she takes 5 minutes. I've told her she can just tell me once what is needed and it'll get done - I don't need 5-10 minute explanations of everything. When she continued to do so, I told her earlier this week she continues to insult my intelligence, and I realize that it doesn't matter what I say. She says she respects me but her behavior shows otherwise. I told her so.

No, I am not that nice.

I think you are very nice. You are just really good at establishing boundaries:-)

People like that are so hard. They often don't change, but you are handling her really professionally. She would probably be worse if you were "nice." Lol.
