ScoutTN
I just discovered it last week on TV. So I got season 1 from the library and watched it this past week. Very fun. DH does NOT like it. He can get drawn into Downton Abbey, but not this. I guess it doesn't come back on until the spring?
Amy in NH
It IS a great show! You can watch season 2 on PBS. Season 3 comes out in March.
zoobie
I love it too! It's based on books (semi-autobiographical, as I understand it) by Jennifer Worth that sometimes are cheap for Kindle. If you have amazon prime streaming, there's another BBC period medical drama that I really enjoyed. It's called London Hospital and is set in, you guessed it, the London Hospital in 1906. :)
Cindy in FL.
I have really enjoyed this show. Just saw this year's holiday special and am looking forward to the next series.

twoxcell
I love this show! You can watch season 1, the first Christmas specia,l and season 2 on Netflix. They had a Christmas special just a few weeks ago that you may be able to watch on the PBS website. Season 3 starts this spring I believe. My dh doesn't like to watch it either. I think there is too much realistic birth for him. He does fine for my births but doesn't want to see anyone else. lol
Slartibartfast
I really enjoyed the series. Vanessa Redgrave is a lovely narrator. :)
ktgrok
We love that show! Even my husband really likes it, but I think maybe he just likes the pretty girls in pretty clothes, lol!
Chris in VA
My dd and I watch it. It gives us much discussion material, particularly about women's reproductive freedoms and how that has all developed and changed. I think simplyjune dot com has it on if you don't have Netflix and want to watch. It's very well done. I was hoping they weren't ending the series; couldn't tell from the last episode I watched. kubiac
Love that series (and the books before it was a TV show). Thank you so much for the tip about London Hospital! I think I'll try that next.
Barb_
My husband loves it too. We had homebirths and he always caught the babies. Once we even beat the midwife and he was my only assistant so he fancies himself something of an expert. He likes to offer critical commentary on the births :)

dirty ethel rackham
I read Jennifer Worth's memoirs many years ago as I began my journey as a childbirth educator/birth junkie. I was so excited for the series to come out and was not disappointed. I do love the show!
