grantmeawish
I would really like to try it on rather than purchasing online. Specifically I think I would a light pink pillbox fascinator. This is to wear in a wedding. I thought claire's might, but no luck.

Stacia
Have you checked the department stores like Macy's, Nordstrom's, etc...? If you wanted an over-the-top glitter one, I've seen a few like that at Party City, lol.
plansrme
Is the wedding near Easter? And are you in the south? If so, department stores will care a bunch of hats (and hat-like implements) closer to Easter.
helena
Do you have any vintage clothing stores in your area? I'd try there if you don't have any luck finding new ones. At least you could narrow down the style you're looking for before buying online.
gardenmom5
I'd try nordstrom's or neiman marcus.

MrsMommy
I've found them at Macy's and Dillards.
Ellie
I had never heard of such a thing as a "fascinator." Guess I need to get out more, lol.
MFG
When I worked at Steinmart we sold fascinators, especially in the spring time.

I've heard of such a thing, but didn't know what they were! And for some reason, wasn't curious enough to look it up. Now I know! :-) You learn something new every day! Dmmetler
If you're in the Southern US, it also may be worth it to check different parts of town. In my area, some malls will have entire stores of hats and headpieces all year long because it's common to wear them to church, but others won't even have many close to Easter. It all depends on who their usual clientele is.
momacacia
This is um, fascinating! Never heard of them either.
momacacia
Now that I see pics, I realize my dd has a black one of there grandma gave her. Lol! She puts it on with her dressy black shoes and looks straight out of the 40s.
G5052
In my area there are two independent (i.e. non-chain) places that sell them. One carries just hats and accessories, and the other is a horse store that carries that type of hat for the spectators at steeplechase events. Where I used to live, women wore that type of hat at a variety of formal events, and I owned a black one. Now though, I really don't need one.
