nmoira
It occurred to me yesterday that I've never met anyone who dislikes Crowded House. Is it even possible to dislike them? (Sorry for choosing the obvious video... their catalog is deep, but "try to catch the deluge in a paper cup" is my second favourite music lyric.) I've had a bit of a crush on Neil Finn since his days with Split Enz. Just a side note. I hadn't realized just how much video work Split Enz had done *before* MTV existed. Here's a chronological playlist I put together on YouTube a couple years back. The first isn't a video, but the rest are.

Miss Peregrine
Deluge in a paper cup- just saw that part of your post. I have always loved that line. :)

marbel
Wow, I hadn't thought about Crowded House in years. Yeah, I like them. Maybe after this thread I will love them.

lailasmum
I like crowded house but we saw them play at Glastonbury festival about 5 years ago and they were pretty bad so it's reduced my liking them a bit.
City Mouse
Wow! I feel old now. I voted "never heard of them" but I should have watched the videos first to jog my memory.
FaithManor
I have never heard of them before. That said, if it's a pop music group, I'm probably meh. I'm a classical and jazz pianist, so that's a big clue that I'm a music snob! :D :D :D
Jen in NY
LOL faith.... I am usually a big music snob, too... but the lyrics won me over. Love it! Most of the songs that are hugely popular are the ones I like least. Go figure.

swellmomma
Wow! I feel old now. I voted "never heard of them" but I should have watched the videos first to jog my memory. I did the same thing. Only now that I actually pressed play on a couple of the songs, I am reminded I do not like them. I find their singing to be like nails on a chalk board for me. Can't stand it. Likely why I didn't know the name of the band, I always turned off the radio when their songs came on it.

Crimson Wife
Now I feel really stupid for telling my kids the other day that I liked the Tears for Fears version of "Don't Dream It's Over" better than the Sixpence None the Richer version. freeindeed
Love "Don't Dream It's Over." Brings back memories of the 80's...best decade ever. :)
school17777
I had to listen to your clips to know. Like Swellmomma, I would change the radio station if their songs came on. I have been listening to the Church's Under the Milky Way on youtube lately. Can't get the song out of my head! Was expecting this post to be about having company and a lot of people in the house or something.

LMD
I like them. I remember watching their goodbye concert on tv with my mum, she cried. My dh doesn't like them.

MyLittleWonders
Absolutely love them. My best (guy) friend on college and I saw them three time, each time within five rows center stage. They put on the best shows. I was shocked when I heard Paul Hester was dead. :( Dh has learned to appreciate them but only because he knows how much I love them. ;)
