In the Rain
Any recommendations for good Christmas movies (DVDs) as a gift for a family with 15 & 16yo girls? Either classic, or fun and more recent would be fine. I remember loving elf, but I don't know if teens would like it. My little girls love the old A Christmas Carol, but I don't know if the other family watches old movies. TIA
Cinder
My teen boys enjoyed Elf and they're not so much into sweet and sappy movies. We also enjoy National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Actually our annual tradition is to watch the original Star Wars trilogy.
eschuetter
If you're open to old movies... My kids loved it last year ages 11, 8 and 5.... White Christmas with Bing Crosby.

lmrich
Elf makes me laugh every time! It is not sappy but is goofy! It could be fun to watch different version of A Christmas Carol.
Caroline
Elf. Just approved by my 17 year old DS.

In the Rain
Thanks for all of the ideas. I just found out they own Elf, so that one is out. I've never heard of some of the other titles mentioned, so I'll have fun browsing. :001_smile: Christmas Carol (with Capt. Piccard) I just saw this version listed on Amazon. Have you seen it? We really like Patrick Stewart, so it might be a fun one for our family!
annandatje
Another vote for "Elf."
Remudamom
The six teens here today watched Home Alone for their "Christmas movie".
AngieW in Texas
My 14yo is busy NaNoWriMoing and refused to speak. My 17yo suggested The Christmas List. My 19yo suggested Die Hard (I'm sure that's not what you're looking for, but it does take place at Christmas).
Stacia
My 19yo suggested Die Hard (I'm sure that's not what you're looking for, but it does take place at Christmas). That's one of my favorite "Christmas" movies too, lol.

bbmom
Our whole family still loves the Santa Clause movies. Other ideas-Bad Santa, Fred Claus, Scrooged, and Jingle All the Way.
In the Rain
Thanks for all of the ideas! I put a bunch of movies on hold at the library for our family. Since the other family already owns Elf, I bought them A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart, and the Christmas Story.

Jen in NY
I just had to second "Family Man" --- I can't stand Nick Cage but I love this movie to death. There's just nothing like Don Cheadle as an angel, either. :)
