Stacy in NJ
I need some fun, light, interesting, weird book recommendations. Nothing too serious please. Some recent titles I've read and enjoyed: The Scorpio Races http://www.amazon.com/The-Scorpio-Races-Maggie-Stiefvater/dp/054522490X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1351295707&sr=8-1&keywords=the+scorpio+races The Raven Boys http://www.amazon.com/Raven-Boys-Cycle/dp/0545424925/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1351295760&sr=1-1&keywords=the+raven+boys The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer http://www.amazon.com/Unbecoming-Mara-Dyer-Michelle-Hodkin/dp/1442421770/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1351295812&sr=1-1&keywords=the+unbecoming+of+mara+dyer The Evolution of Mara Dyer http://www.amazon.com/The-Evolution-Mara-Dyer-Trilogy/dp/1442421797/ref=pd_sim_b_1 The Passage http://www.amazon.com/Passage-Novel-Justin-Cronin/dp/0345528174/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1351295930&sr=1-1&keywords=the+passage The Twelve http://www.amazon.com/The-Twelve-Book-Passage-Trilogy/dp/0345504984/ref=pd_sim_b_1 Dark Places http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Places-Novel-Gillian-Flynn/dp/0307341577/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1351296021&sr=1-1&keywords=dark+places Daugher of Smoke and Bone http://www.amazon.com/Daughter-Smoke-Bone/dp/031613399X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1351296091&sr=1-1&keywords=daughter+of+smoke+and+bone
Hen
anything by Meg Cabot is fun and light. I just finished "You dropped a blond on me" it was a fun read. One of my fav reads of all times is "Blessed are the cheesemakers" it was a funny, deceptively light read that had some deep parts to it. http://www.amazon.com/Blessed-Are-the-Cheesemakers-ebook/dp/B000Q9INCW/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1351297099&sr=8-2&keywords=blessed+are+the+cheesemakers I did a review of it on my blawg, long time ago, you can click over and do a search there. :001_smile:
Caroline
I am reading Finding Mañana, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh, and The Demon in the Freezer. The first and last are the community reads for my school. The middle was written by Michael Chabon, who, it turns out, went to the same elementary school as me. However, he is older and we never crossed paths that I know of.
Hypatia.
I read A Hidden Fire (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005VTVE0U/ref=kinw_myk_ro_title) because it was a freebie for the Kindle. I'm not into vampire fiction but this one wasn't bad (especially when stuck in line at the hospital pharmacy for an hour!), I enjoyed it enough to read the others in the series. I'm now reading and enjoying Ender's Game. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=0312932081
GWOB
 I am completely useless to you. I just finished The Passage and The Twelve. Loved them! It has been a long time since I've read a book or even watched a movie that kept me up (in a creeped-out way) at night. I'm thinking I need a light read after those two books;). GWOB
Wait! I can be useful! If you want a ridiculously funny, inappropriate, shoot-milk-out-of-your-nose hilarious book, try The Idiot Girls' Action-Adventure Club by Laurie Notaro. She is my girl soul mate. SJ.
I just read: The Year of the Flood Life As We Knew It The Dead and the Gone This World We Live In The first two I read as part of a program through our local library and the last two are sequels to the second book. They were all quick reads that I really enjoyed.
Stacia
Two fun ones, imo... Dark, twisted, and hilarious: John Dies at the End Fun fantasy action: Hounded In the interesting/weird category, I submit: Zeroville (I loved all 3 of these books.) shusband
Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn It's creepy but also a page turner I don't like most fantasy, but I really enjoyed Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (first of a 3 book series, second book was really good too, 3rd not out yet) Summer
duckens
Currently Reading: Death Makes a Holiday: A Cultural History of Halloween (nonfiction) It's not particularly compelling, but it IS appropriate reading for this month. It's not really difficult reading either. ------------------------ If you want Light and Fun reading: The Bubbles Mystery series, starting with: Bubbles Unbound With a heroine like Bubbles Yablonsky, you know you're in for a ride! ---------------------- Undead (Queen Betsy) Vampire series, starting with Undead and Unwed --------------------- Just about anything by Harlen Coben is a page-turner. Harlen Coben

Sausage Dogs was my favorite of the three.
