NotSoObvious
I decided to give the kids a day off today, but now I'm realizing we can't do anything else because of the traffic! I thought we could go to DC, then remembered it's Labor Day. Now I'm too afraid to drive too far. What are you all doing today? I'm thinking we should have just done school... freeindeed
We are making fall cookies and crafts, and then tonight we're going to have a movie night & watch Home Alone.
Chris in VA
We are going into DC to see the Titanic exhibit at the Nat Geo museum. It's one of the few museums we've never been to, so I'm excited! We are taking the metro in.
jamijoy
We're doing school. :001_smile: That's one reason I homeschool...so we can do the fun stuff when everybody else is not.
MrsBanjoClown
My plan was to do school, and then my sister called last night to say that they are in town, so we may visit with them instead. The boys are still asleep, and if I want to get any school done I am going to need to wake them up soon.
OrganicAnn
DH & I are painting the living room. Talk about "Labor Day". It is all gloomy, rainy and *hot* here anyway. Thanks Isaac. I can't imagine doing much outside.

We'd have to drive from Charlottesville to Vienna and I'm thinking it might not be so smart.
Desert Rat
We are doing school and seeing the tutor. Regular day for us. I''m cat sitting for friends, so I have to run over there in a bit. And Dad's in the hospital, so I'll be seeing him later, too. Sounds like a fun day, no? :)
Luckymama
We were going to go to the pool but it's pouring now :) We have friends coming over for a BBQ later. Hoping it clears up!
ThisIsTheDay
This is usually our first day of school! But for various reasons, we started two weeks ago. It will be another school day here, though.
Momof3littles
We are taking the day off. Dh is traveling for work, we school year round, it is rainy, and I'm working on some prep for this school year. We've already started our year, but I have a list of things I'd still like to print and so forth. My kids do very little TV but they are all plopped on the couch watching the tube currently :) We are also taking Wednesday off for our traditional "not back to school" day. Mama could use an easy week this week.
mytwomonkeys
we are taking today off too. we got together with friends last night for dinner & stayed late playing games. my daughter spent the night there. today we will clean the house & eventually pick my daughter up. tonight my kids start their first karate lesson:)
Impish
Probably some more cleaning...possibly packing, if I can figure out what more we can do w/out. Problem is, w/the weather changing daily, it's not like I can pack up our summer gear, or our warmer stuff. :glare: Wolf's labouring at the new house, getting painting done. KrissiK
Dh is home, so he's taking the boys hiking in the Sierras. I'm staying home with the girls and we're going to paint nails.
TammyinTN
We start school tomorrow...so today we are cleaning house, and preparing for the grand-babies to come on Wednesday. They will be staying 2.5 months and we are beyond excited. :D We haven't seen them since the end of April except on Skype. :D
Swimtaxi234
We are having a "lazy day" in honor of Labor Day. School started late and will probably run late, but they don't seem to be in any hurry. I am going to cook a turkey roast in the crockpot since it ties in well with the lazy day theme. :D
Kelly1730
We had our small group over for a "cook-in".:tongue_smilie: Fortunately, we already planned not to grill anything so the rain really wasn't a problem except for not using the pool. And at one point, it did stop raining so one of the kids did get in. :seeya: Issac!
Dory
We had our first day of school today. We kept it light though. Then we made raisin muffins and a batch of bread. Dh was taking advantage of weather and discing the pasture. All in all, a fairly normal fall day for us. All the schools around here start up tomorrow, but I like taking holidays when everyone else is home. Then I don't have to fight the crowds.
