What song are you singing??

Recommended Posts

DD(almost)4 has been singing this all morning.....she learned it at preschool - I now have it stuck in MY head.

(to the tune of "Mary Had a Little Lamb")

Mary had a baby boy, baby boy, baby boy

Mary had a baby boy

His name was Jesus

Shepherds came to see the child, see the child, see the child

Shepherds came to see the child

His name was Jesus

It is actually rather cute :)

We watched Guys and Dolls last night, so this morning I have "Sit down sit down sit down sit down, sit down, you're rocking the boat" in my head. Dd occasionally varies this by belting out "Luck be a lady tonight."

At least they're great songs! It's just that a few times around and I'm done.

Yours sounds a bit more like a tribulation!

DD also has another one (this one is said more like a poem, not a song) that she fequently gets stuck in my head:

I couldn't buy you a gift, because I'm very small

But, I can give you the greatest gift of all.

I can give you kisses.

I can give you hugs.

I can give you a friendly smile.

And, I can say "I love you."

I about melted the first time I heard her reciting it.

I've been singing this one for weeks.

Baby monkey

Baby monkey

Riding on a pig, baby monkey

Baby monkey

Baby monkey

Backwards on a pig, baby monkey

The world has gone insane

And you don't know what is right

You've got to keep on keeping on

Get on that pig and hold on tiiii-ight

Baby monkey

Baby monkey

Riding on a pig, baby monkey

Baby monkey

Baby monkey

Going backwards on a pig, baby monkey

And I just watched this too. I love that song! It's my ringtone for my phone--the first I ever downloaded!

I should try that - putting it on my phone. :D

I stopped paying attention to popular music when our kids were really small, but now that they're getting older, we're all enjoying the same music together, which is so nice. On our recent trip to the U.S., we had no disagreements as to which radio stations to listen to. We all have very similar taste, so that helps.

For the longest while, I thought ONLY 80s music (the music we grew up to) was any good. But now I'm realizing that there is a lot of great stuff out there.
