patchfire
We're doing a foster-to-adopt with a gorgeous 13 month old female Siberian Husky. Her previous owners were foreclosed upon, so they returned her to the rescue from which they'd adopted her. Her current name is, supposedly, Skyler, but she doesn't really respond to it at all. We're not particularly fond of it either. We're having trouble deciding on a new name. None of them seem to fit! Currently in consideration? Astrid, Starbuck, Sasha. Names from Whedonverse, Harry Potter, or BSG would be a bonus. :D
Remudamom
Is she a Sibyll? Katie Bell? Rosemerta? Luna! Edited August 18, 2010 by Remudamom
dragons in the flower bed
Book! As in Shepherd. ETA: Oops, missed the girl part. I like Astrid, truthfully, for a girl of that breed. Inara rings too, though, I think.

3littlekeets
Sasha seems overused for Huskies to me, but I like Astrid! How about Arabella (HP)? Dualla (BSG)? Keikeya (BSG)?

I've always loved my name (and Astrid is actually my given name!) so that's what gets my vote! :D astrid
meet me in paris
I'd vote for Padma, Molly or Tonks ;-) ♥ that! We're getting a puppy soon, and if it's a girl it will be Tonks. :)
Wee Pip
I always wanted to name a dog either Pavlov (after the scientist that worked with dogs) or Peeve (as in "my pet peeve). I'm an Ancient Egyptian nut, so I always wanted to name a dog "Anubis", but that wouldn't fit a really furry dog:)
Sarah in FL
We have a puppy named Sasha, and according to the Monks of New Skete (dog training experts), 2 syllable dog names ending in a long vowel or soft "a" are clear and easy for dogs to distinguish. And, it's easy for our 2 yo to say, although he tends to say "Shasha," which of course is so cute.

DB in NJ
Padfoot? Tonks? Molly? Ginevra (Ginny's real first name)? Or just Snuffy. I like the name Snuffy for a dog. That's what we're naming our next one :D
