  1. Your poor daughter! Can you post some pictures? Maybe someone could help identify them by the bite.
  2. I taped it and I'm going to watch it later tonight.
  3. There are a lot more services for someone who is on the autism spectrum vs. someone who has adhd. We did the gfcf diet for a couple years and it took over 6 months to notice a difference, but then it was remarkable. DS was no long impulsive or distracted. He didn’t have as many sensory issues, rituals went away and there were hardly any behavior issues. We also eliminated all food dyes and artificial sweeteners. When he went off the diet, all of these things started coming back.
  4. I love all the educational titles they chose. It shows that they have instilled a love of learning in them.
  5. My husband hasn’t been able to work for quite some time because of cancer and we called the bank about refinancing. They turned us down because he didn’t have a job. Our payments would have been quite a bit lower, but that didn’t seem to matter. We have been working with the bank on our mortgage for quite some time. At first, we were paying interest only, but when even that was too much, we worked it out to give them a little money each month. They seem like they genuinely want to work with us on not foreclose.
  6. Wow! $400/week. I can’t imagine that. I don’t really spend much money on myself. I might go out to lunch a couple of times a year or buy a book for myself once in a while. I definitely spend under $10/week.
  7. Definitely the internet. Makes teaching so much easier.
  8. We don't have alcoholism in our family and I'm a major sugar addict. This researcher says that sugar is just as addictive as cocaine: http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-04-02/news/31276928_1_high-fructose-corn-syrup-sugar-consumption-table-sugar
  9. I have a sound machine from the Sharper Image. I love it!
  10. My son had it, but after several years of vitamin supplements, he no longer has it. I do recommend getting the urine test for confirmation. The supplements should only be taken if your daughter shows a need for them.
  11. I never heard of that either. I'm also from the midwest.
  12. I also started having symptoms in my late 30’s. First, I got my period every two weeks, but then I’d go for months without one. My last period was 11 months ago, so technically I’m not in menopause until I go a year without a period.
  13. Our educational therapist was trained at NILD. Have you looked at their program? http://www.nild.net/professional-development.asp
  14. What about using a sanitizing wand? http://www.verilux.com/uv-products/uv-portable
  15. Depends on the season. In the summer, I like being outside as long as possible, so it’s usually 7:30 before we sit down to dinner. In the winter, we eat about 5.
  16. I agree! Without sleep, functioning is difficult. I don’t know what kind of a diet you are on, but nutrition is also a very important aspect to having enough energy. It's hard to think about exercising when you're tired, but it will do wonders for relieving stress while giving you more energy.
  17. I made the original post in 2010 and no one posted anything recently until you did, Catwoman on 8/2/12; then after several other people posted, I responded to Photo Ninjan on 8/4/2012. You made the comment: (I'd also like to let you know that, on this forum, it's considered pushy to bump your own thread every few minutes.) Is that aimed at me since I started this thread? I never bumped up the thread. I made the initial post, then after getting inquiries from people who wanted to buy them, I posted that they were sold and then this most recent post. If I’m not understanding something here, please let me know. Also, I’ve been a member for two years—is that ‘new’?
