Linda (Australia)
HI - I seem to love the 'historical' movies - not necessarily 'true' historically - things like: The Three Muskateers Robin Hood Titanic All the Rivers Run The Man from Snowy River Pearl Harbour King Arthur etc. - movies based on history (or historical fiction), with a bit of romance thrown in! What are your favourites? I'm just wondering if there's any good ones out there, that I've missed! :lurk5: Thanks!
Hunter's Moon
The Other Boleyn Girl is quite an interesting book series and movie. It has Henry VIII life, but there is romance and other such things.

ScoutTN
Love many of those posted above. Though some (Rob Roy, The Patriot are too violent for me.) other faves: Master and Commander Henry V To Kill A Mockingbird Laurence of Arabia The Bridge over the River Kwai
Rosie_0801
Kingdom of Heaven is pretty good, even if the history has been *ahem* adjusted a bit. Rosie

Brilliant
Not a movie, but a 4-hour mini-series: North and South (the Richard Armitage one, not the Patrick Swayze one)
MtnTeaching
Certainly not historically acurate, but I could watch "Princess Bride" over and over again. "Twhoo Wuv is wut bwings us togeder today"
Linda (Australia)
Thankyou. I'll have to check some of those out. Some I know well - The Patriot and yes, The Princess Bride - gotta love it! I can't believe I left Ladyhawke out of my original list above, or Little Women. Thankyou for the suggestions!

Ellie
I wonder if "Rachel and the Stranger" would fit in there--pioneer widower, marries a bond woman to bring up his son, an old friend drops in and appreciates the bond woman, jealousy ensues, all that stuff.:D Loretta Young, William Holden, Robert Mitchum. What about "Quigley Down Under"?
