A young woman on my worship team is getting married and I didn't think I had much to wear. Well, since I've lost weight (yeah!) I finally fit into this "little black dress" that I've been holding on to "just in case" I ever did lose the weight. Dh LOVES this dress and I know he wants me to wear it. But, is it wrong to wear black to an evening wedding? Her colors are all Fall type colors (brides maids dresses are a medium brownish color). What says the Hive? If you could add a color in the form of a scarf or shawl, that might make you feel better. I would never wear black if I were the mother of the bride or groom. BigMamaBird Posted November 21, 2009 Share Posted November 21, 2009 I don't wear predominantly black or white to a wedding. Black is too "mournful" and white should be for the bride to stand out. I also won't wear the "wedding colors" if I know them. White is definitely a no-no, but I don't think folks would bat an eye at black. It's just my personal opinion. I guess unless you had weird kids... my husband and I are oddballs, we asked our families to wear black to the wedding.
