  1. Another vote for men's socks. TJMaxx and Marshalls have nice-quality athletic socks. I like the wool-blend ones and collect them over time.

Check if what's she's doing is legal in your state: https://www.avma.org/Advocacy/StateAndLocal/Pages/veterinary-prescription-orders.aspx

Ours too. They tell us when there's something that's much cheaper online. If the med is also a human medication, you can often get that cheaper from a regular pharmacy.
  4. The police wouldn't have any reason to test for alcohol. He wasn't driving. He (or lawyer) could've done it on his own to prove that he was to mitigate his crime, but there isn't any obligation on the police's part to provide him defenses. Legally, the police would need a reason to do so, and he would have to consent or they'd need a court order compelling his blood. Even breathalyzer testing after suspected DUI requires consent (in my state--refusal comes with a big "stick" of automatic suspension of license).
  5. The Vera Wang ones are cute and comfy. A few Croft & Barrow ones aren't bad, but some look very granny, which is probably not what you're going for. Torrid has some fun things too, and they go down to a 0 or 00 which is a L and M. They run wider than the misses L and M, which is nice for generous chests.
  6. Most regular places carry the Banana Boat mentioned above. That's what we use when I need it in large quantities. There's a readily-available Neutrogena Baby Pure & Free (comes in tube and a stick) that works too. I use the Banana Boat on bodies and the Neutrogena stick on faces. My DS and I react to the chemical sunblocks such as oxybenzone. We're fine with the ones whose active ingredients are zinc and/or titanium dioxide. The mist kinds are all rash-inducing. I bought Honest Baby at Costco last year and burned to a crisp using it. I know several people who had the same issue, and it was all over online. I'm a ghostly pale redhead and the two I mentioned are what I use at the pool, beach, ball games, etc. Target carries a Cerave Baby lotion in a tube that's safe, but it is really hard to rub in the white cast. I bought it for my everyday face sunscreen and...no. I looked like I was trying to do kabuki theater. At the beach I wouldn't care! Bed, Bath, & Beyond carries a pretty good selection of the more "natural" sunscreens, and you can use their coupons. Ulta as well. And of course, amazon, but no coupons there.
  7. Kohl's and Target, but I sometimes layer over a thin bra type thing because the girls have given up and flown south for the winter.
  8. SC age of consent is 16. Him being over 18 would only be an issue if she were under 16. I'd probably just fervently hope he found hanging out with a high school kid in her living room boring by the time he goes off to college.
  9. If lawmakers were really concerned about the safety of citizens in restrooms, they'd pass laws/codes requiring single occupancy style facilities. It does make sense that it's a vulnerable location. I don't agree (and it sounds like you don't either) that it's particularly vulnerable because of transgender people. Following along this--transgender doesn't align with sexual preference as I understand it. There are male rapists who rape males, and there are female rapists who rape females. Gender doesn't predict the rapist's victim gender. So how do these laws actually protect anyone? And re: the other post on "most" -- I hear what you are saying and seem to have misunderstood your intent with that word. I do think the language is important. There was one of those viral posts by some preacher's wife when the NC law first passed that was supposed to be inclusive, but really it still perpetuated the myth that transgender = dangerous. She was going to change her behavior and accompany her girls to the bathroom anyway, just in case. Though she was sure "most" people were only going in there to pee.
  10. I can't find anything either. Google pulls up everything on transgender laws. White males are statistically most likely to be the perpetrators of rape in the US. Maybe we should ban them from using bathrooms. (Sarcasm.) Snopes has something that lists public restrooms as the number three location, so maybe it's based on an email forward from My Bigoted Uncle? As for the tidbit "The number one place women are abducted from/attacked at is grocery store parking lots. Number two is office parking lots/garages. Number three is public restrooms," Kathie Kramer, public relations coordinator at the Denver Rape Assistance and Awareness Program (RAAP) says, "Statistics in studies I've found don't support this idea about grocery stores or parking lots being especially unsafe." Location is important in a violent sexual assault, but there's nothing inherently dangerous about parking lots or public restrooms; what matters is their isolation. Areas heavily frequented by foot traffic are far less likely to be chosen by a rapist. Likewise, badly-lit, less-frequented places will be favored for this type of attack. http://www.snopes.com/crime/prevent/rape.asp
  11. I'm not saying transgender people aren't ever rapists. I take issue with the phrasing that "most aren't." You're still implying there's some kind of danger associated simply with being transgender. Do you advocate laws restricting men's access to public spaces by saying, well, most men aren't rapists, but... http://abcnews.go.com/US/sexual-assault-domestic-violence-organizations-debunk-bathroom-predator/story?id=38604019 http://www.huffingtonpost.com/brynn-tannehill/debunking-bathroom-myths_b_8670438.html Which analyzed the FBI's crime report, and if you want to look at it in full, it's here: https://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2014/crime-in-the-u.s.-2014/offenses-known-to-law-enforcement/rape That article states there was one case in Canada, but it was a man in disguise and not an actual transgendered person. Less than 1% of the population is transgender. If transgender people attacking people in bathrooms were an actual problem in the US, don't you think it would be in the news? The people passing or attempting to pass these laws would be publicizing the hell out of any case. They can't name one single instance or provide any concrete evidence of risk.
  12. Why would one need to put hands on butter? Do you have a countdown clock running? I guess "serve individual pats of butter" gets put on the list for next time.
  13. I'd do both. Given your stressors of late, I would guess that you've got some situational depression happening. The issues may or may not overlap, but I'd worry about that after getting back to some kind of healthy baseline.
  14. Rapists who wear disguises or trespass in bathrooms won't be stopped by transgender bathroom laws. And "most rapists are not transgender"? Really? There have been zero reported attacks in bathrooms with a transgender perpetrator. ZERO.
  15. Walmart has a year warranty on glasses I believe. That's where most of my friends go for their more enthusiastic kids.
  16. Right, because he penetrated her with fingers and shoved other objects like pine needles inside her instead of his penis. He was interrupted mid crime.
  17. Marital rape wasn't a crime in all 50 states until 1993, and many of the laws are still ridiculous. Crime labs are woefully underfunded. Rape test kits often go unprocessed or have years-long backlogs. Some politicians have suggested making victims pay for the processing. Slut shaming and victim blaming are really only part of the warped view of rape in our society.
  18. Hopefully they're simply still sitting aghast at the audacity.
  19. My friend (who otherwise loathes Wal-Mart) swears by them for prescription sports goggles. They start at around $60 and have a decent warranty. 3/4 of her kids wear glasses and are in contact sports. Sports goggles with a secure strap would have worked better for me at a water park than swimming goggles. I never spent much time under water actually swimming at water parks. :)
  20. Elizabeth Smart, who was abducted as a girl and raped repeatedly, has been doing work in this area. She makes speeches to LDS and other Christian groups on the subject of how valuing virginity above all else is harmful. I am not in either of those groups, but I've found her to be a very powerful voice.
  21. I looked on Yelp and asked our friend who's a landscape architect who he uses.
  22. Also check for rebates from your state, county/city, and water department for upgrading to a water efficient toilet.
  23. We ordered toilets from Amazon. They were cheaper than the plumber's cost price!
