  1. Magic School Bus Fetch with Ruff Ruffman is surprisingly educational Kratt Brothers (animal show)
  2. Teaching in an area that doesn't require a teaching certificate should get you $30K plus benefits. Also, if it's a high-need area, it could qualify for one of the federal loan forgiveness or repayment grants. There was a big article in the Atlanta paper about the Savannah area hiring 500 teachers, no degrees required. Not sure where you are now, but I believe you are looking to move anyway. Edited: sorry, had the window open and reply started a couple of hours ago! :)
  3. Poor kitty! I hope they can get his tooth out quickly. My avatar guy had that happen, and it popped up practically overnight. He was perfectly fine after his extraction. :)
  4. I agree that excluding the spouses who will be affected is a recipe for disaster. Quill will be doing the majority of the work, not her DH. Though I'm not discounting the effects on the male spouses. My dad has been impacted a great deal by having his wife's mother live with them. She requires around-the-clock care (they haven't slept through the night in years unless they're out of town and still wake up out of habit), and they need two people to help her out of bed and to the bathroom now. They've aged twice as fast. They can't enjoy their lives. It was supposed to be a short-term solution, but that was TEN years ago. The rotation sounds like a cluster. Especially with active families with children and a person with dementia who's going to require more and more care as the dementia progresses. Jill's got the first 3 months. Whomever has her the last quarter is going to have a different experience. This trying to make the burden "fair" on all the siblings isn't fair to the mother, the spouses, or the grandchildren. Stability and routine is key. Throwing that off is going to get worse and worse for her. And Quill, if your house isn't suitable, and you aren't able to provide attendant care, it's okay to say no. Your DH should say no, **I** cannot provide care to my mother, and this isn't going to work for my family.
  5. Keep watching DH's account. My friend got some LED light up tennis shoes (in her DH's size, ha!), and shortly thereafter realized her account had been hacked.
  6. I'd use the dog's name and shorten it if that's a command. "Susie, leave it." (Or whatever) Then in the non-command tone, you can chit chat and explain.
  7. Clean! (Though I've never understood that because after it's been on your butt, it's no longer clean, but maybe some people don't start with a fresh pair? **shudder**)
  8. I'd get the 8 qt size. If you're using frozen meat, you'll definitely need to adjust the cook time. You'd probably want to increase it some even thawed because you're increasing the mass inside the pot. There are lots of charts out there with suggested time/lb of meat. If it's not done, throw it back on. Once the pot is hot, it takes less time to come up to pressure. You can cook it on the Saute setting as well.
  9. Control. Same reason those other nuts didn't get birth certificates for their children.
  10. I thought she meant regular squirrels vs flying squirrels or something fancy. I don't think we have those either.
  11. I agree it may be time to look at overall quality of life issues. She's 14, has cancer, bad teeth, and is in pain. She is showing aggression to people. She attacked you already, and you have small, unpredictable children. Removing all of her teeth is an extensive procedure, and it won't help the cancer or her decline in health caused by aging. I know the timing is particularly awful, and I know how much you love your doggies. :grouphug:
  12. Yum! I bet that would be good with TJs Salsa Verde too.
  13. Relocating isn't necessarily a humane option. Squirrels are very territorial and will fight and starve out outsiders. My dad relocated some who were destroying his garden to his friend's yard with permission. Friend then told him no more because the squirrel fights were vicious and keeping him up at night. :(
  14. It's not rude. Throw the gift receipt in the bag and don't worry about it. :) (I'm not a twin mom, but that's from one of my best friends who is.)
  15. Taco meat with salad for the diabetic and corn tortillas or shells for gluten free Roasted chicken with veggies and sweet potatoes Hamburgers with lettuce wrap for diabetic and gluten free person. Cole slaw or salad side. BBQ pork shoulder in crock pot. Cole slaw and skip buns. You can make baked beans and leave out most of the sugar. They're usually way too sweet anyway. What would you normally make? It's usually pretty easy to tweak.
  16. Typical, though I only have one. Random athletic-type apparel seems normal. :)
  17. Do you mean large around the rib cage? Or large cup size? Lane Bryant carries 36-44 band sizes and C to maybe G cups in stores. There's a smaller selection over DDD cup size. Their semi annual sale is going on. Many bras are buy 2, get 1 or 2. Also Google for an in-store coupon. There's usually a $25 off $75 one floating around. Soma doesn't go over 40D I want to say. Nordstrom maybe as well, but you can check that online and filter by in store selection or simply call your local store. If you have a specialty bra shop in your town (you can search by mastectomy bras), they will usually be the best at measuring and the best at having or being able to order unusual sizes.
  18. Sorry to post again, but I had to look up the name of the condition. A friend's daughter struggles with vomiting cycles, severe pain, and so forth and was finally diagnosed with gastroparesis after they traveled to CHOP for treatment.
  19. Probiotics (good ones, which will be pricey and in the refrigerated section at WF or some natural type store) and Kefir. My family likes the strawberry kind from TJs.
  20. It must vary from state to state. Here they're called Snake Farm by attorneys and are loathsome at paying claims. Sparkly, if you can find an independent agent, s/he will run the coverage you want across a bunch of companies and get multiple quotes. They all have different actuarial formulas, so you can see some variance. Glad you got coverage so quickly and caught the problem yourself!
  21. What a nightmare! I hope he continues to improve. :grouphug:
