  1. I'd be very specific. Last time I went in te gal just talked with me. What? I've never had any testing done and hadn't been to the regular doctor in years.
  2. I use a mason jar with lid. If I pour in the coffee right away and add whatever fat (butter or coconut oil) and sweetener it melts and I use a kid and shake it. After pouring my first cup I put the lid back on and the coffee stays pretty warm. Bonus is its quiet and it doesn't wake my kids (not that it matters as 5:30 is the new 6:30 around here.) I haven't made it in forever because I wasn't losing on lchf :/ and I don't know why.
  3. We moved into a rental house not knowing they had had a flea infestation. You cannot spray eggs so even though they had sprayed there were more to be hatched. We called and made them come spray again. But thankfully they never came back. Hugs.
  4. I do not describe myself with my ethnicity but will talk about it with people. I find it fascinating to hear stories or know where people came from. The side of my family I most identify with are the ones I was closest to. That I have memories of. There were some cultural traits passed on but many were not (I.e. the children were taught English only as Italians were despised at that time. Which is a pity as I always imagine I could have learned another language easier). So I may say that I have Italian/German/etc. roots. But I'd never say I was Italian or German, etc (especially outside of the US) because I don't know the language the culture etc.
  5. I may try this. I have a few lipomas and have had a really really really hard time losing weight (didn't lose anything from 6-14 months postpartum. Still have 17ish pounds to go and my baby is 19 months. I'm really tired all of the time too. I may go in for some testing but I don't really want to pay for it). My problem is I get really hungry though and have problems with low blood sugar. So you took the eat to live and modified? Should I pick up the book?
  6. Itsalmostnaptime makes me laugh hysterically! I feel like she documents some of the harder things about coming home (like the adopted child not sleeping).
  7. Ectopic pregnancy with a burst tube- required emergency surgery. 5 years ago. I was 22. Would have left a husband and a 1 year old son.
  8. So good. My body has changed a ton. My littlest (and last) is almost 19 months... Still have 15 pounds to lose but I don't think my prepregnancy jeans will fit the same.
  9. Yes to high quality shoes and bras. I'm still wearing high quality sports bras that I got 10 years ago. I wash but don't dry in the dryer. It's much more comfy for the larger chested women to wear quality bras.
  10. Thank God I'm not alone. I'm wearing maternity pants right now & going out to Find a similar pair today because these are big and old. I also wear lots of skirts and dresses with tights to keep my legs warm. And a body shaping tank that helps :)
  11. We have friends in weld and their house and farm are completely under water. They got out in time but have lost everything.
  12. Yikes. We used to live in the area. Be safe!
  13. I'm neville! My husband is James.
  14. I had a friend who always posted something snarky over everything so I deleted her. When she finally realized I had so emailed me asking why. I politely got to explain why. But I rarely ever post anymore because I'm sick of people and Facebook. :/
  15. I was 3 cm at 36 weeks and 4 cm at 37 weeks with my second. I was induced at 41w1d.
  16. Alcohol is okay as long as you don't get drunk. "Wine gladdens the heart." We are Presbyterian. I, however, don't drink at all because I think alcohol tastes yucky. :) when we were at seminary (baptist) there was a no alcohol rule in the student contract so my husband was pleased when we became Presbyterian (& it wasn't just for the alcohol ;)
  17. Most of my clothes are from goodwill. I love Imogene's blog at everyday style (google it). The best thing I did was figure out what looks good on my figure. Not only do I look better but it makes shopping easier. I can weed out certain colors, necklines, etc. faster and it makes shopping easier (I hate shopping.)
  18. I do not lose weight quickly. I'm still holding onto 17 pounds of baby weight (and he is 18 months). Tried low carb- wasn't successful. I've been doing the thyroid solution diet (even though I've never had my thyroid tested)- I lost 4 pounds last week. I enjoy the program and will stick with it. I hope to have good results this week too. Good luck!
  19. My parents just let me borrow their exercise bike so I've been doing that every day :) then some strength training. Also, we go for a walk after our first 2-3 subjects in the morning to get some fresh air. :)
  20. I spent $85 last week and my goal is $85 for my shopping trip tomorrow too. I've finally reigned in my grocery spending and I'm excited to stay in my budget every week this month!
  21. I had my first at 21 and always wanted a big family. Unfortunately, our financial status cannot support a large family... And pregnancy is much harder than it looks ;) so I'm happy with 3 but wish life was easier and less expensive. I'm glad I had them young- don't regret that.
  22. I kept all until we were done having children then I got rid of everything as the baby grew out of it. We've talked about adopting but the chances of that are so slim that if it did happen I'd just shop used and get new stuff.
  23. I have nothing to add but I'm in a similar boat. I know there is something wrong but I don't know what. Saw one doc who didn't help at all. I do not have money right now to go get testing done either. I'd suggest trying to find a new doc. I hope you get some answers and relief.
  24. The worst decision we ever made was getting a car loan so I agree with the above poster. Try to start saving a little bit and when your car does bites the dust hopefully you'll have enough to buy something. Why would you have to move out of your current location in the future? (Just curious).
