My husband always gets me something even when we say we are not exchanging gifts. But if you don't need anything what about going to do something together? Either something you wouldn't normally do or that you have never done before?

I already told my husband I will be retiring. If I change my mind before then or soon after, so be it.

I have a budget that i stick to and i buy my curriculum all around one time. But i won't be keeping track over the years. Like with all my expenses, If I stay in my budget weekly/monthly/yearly it will all work out.

It annoys me how people need to describe themselves as a homebirthing, intact, breastfeeding, etc. etc. if you have a blog and that is a majority of it I will not read it. There is so much more to life. On a similar note, we have friends who include a lot of jewish traditions in their christian walk... But they did not cir'c their boys? And then they pierced their daughters ears. I still cannot quite figure that out.

Absolutely nothing :) there is a form that is optional for kids ages 7-17 but i suggest not filling it out. A few years ago, there was a bill to be introduced to restrict and/or monitor homeschooling more but it did not move anywhere after thousands of homeschooling families showed up in protest. This is the only thing I actually like about Illinois and the only thing I will be sad to leave behind (unless our next state has the same great homeschooling laws, or lack of rather.)

Yes. We adopted a 6-8 year old dog a few years back. Our kids were 4 & 2. Our dog is a gsp- normally a very energetic breed but our dog is a couch potato! It was nice being matched with a dog that the rescue and foster family could definitely speak to the dog's personality. Eta: he does not slobber or really shed.

I tried. By the second or third day i was a total &$!@* and stopped. I have totally backed off of dieting because it makes me insane and obsessive!

Yes about the selfies! And way too much personal info. I hide all of my little cousins- wow. I literally cannot stand their constant posting with almost every word misspelled. I delete people whose every post is about how fantastic their life is. Or the opposite. I hide the "real food" posts. I have a few friends that are not hidden but i cannot read any link they put up because it usually makes me angry.

Juliette, When we did kindergarten last year we mainly 100 ez lessons, lots of audio books and Legos! I don't know if there is a mckay's in Memphis but there are a few locations (Chattanooga, Nashville, and Knoxville I think?). It is a used bookstore and they have a huge homeschool section. I got the Saxon 2 teacher's book (for next year) for $8. I can't wait to go again! Good luck!

Ds 1- it was toy story 3 when he had just turned 3. Ds 2- cars 2. He was almost 2. Ds 3- i am planning on it being toy story 4 in 2015 :)

Yes, i agree. The secret to being able to wear pajama pants in public with dignity intact, is to buy black sweats. :) tada! (See my previous UO about how gettig dressed is overrated). My mother in law has not yet picked up on this and is constantly buying me cutesy pj's with patterns that i could never wear in public. :/

Christmas vacation movie!!! New toys that keep the kiddos busy :)

Finished last week but I still technically must finish the calendar I got for my parents (add pics and dates) and then wrap!

We go only once a year as a family (and maybe once a year as a date night)- we do saturday a.m. $5/person. We do not buy any food or drinks. We prefer to redbox movies and eat inoridinate amounts of homemade junk food on our family movie nights :)

I have only seen 2 jimmy Stewart movies and I have fallen asleep both times. I later finished both and really liked them though!

I was just in at the chiro and my neck is messed up so that could be part of my headache problem.

I have lots of headaches. Every day. I had a baby in February 2012. Had a follow up in April. Had my tubes tied June of the same year. I have mostly regular periods with last Month's being a whole week late. Same as earlier this summer. I was a whole week late and also ended up at urgent care with a very painful uti.

What testing can be done? She pressed on my tummy. I told her my symptoms. I had two instances of waking up in a sweat, super hot, shaky, feeling faint, tummy ache, and the urge to have a bowel movement. This terrible feeling subsides after the bowel movement, though i still feel a little sick. If i can get more regular (in consistancy and frequency) and this still happens i will go in for more testing. If nothing changes with probiotics and such i will end back up at the doctor's anyways.
