  1. I've never made Greek yogurt, however I have made gallons of regular yogurt. I think the recipe was from the crockpot365 blog. Whole milk was around $3.50 a gallon. After the initial cost of a small container of plain yogurt, the only other cost was minimal electricity to run the crockpot. It was well worth it. Our yogurt always came out thick so we never felt the need to add any thickeners.
  2. I saw a post with MultiQuoting. I am absolutely giddy!!!
  3. We've done most levels of MFW with various children. Sonlight has always intrigued me. What I remember about 1850 to Modern was a lot of here is the state, state bird, state flower, etc. Is that how it really is or is my memory a little foggy?
  4. They dropped it for 1/2 day Kindy when my dds were in ps. I *think* it has been dropped altogether, but I'd have to verify to know if that is accurate.
  5. This will probably end up being the most clicked on thread today.
  6. Yes. We don't receive any moneys for raising our nieces and nephews.
  7. Agreed. We started my non-mathy, non-science oriented oldest on Apologia Physical Science in 9th per advice from several people. We ditched it partway through the year and started Biology. She wished she had started sooner. She was just fine. I wouldn't start chemistry without a math foundation, but Biology shouldn't be a problem.
  8. I hear you. We have friends with kids in ps. They have hours of homework every single night, but aren't allowed to take the books home. What do you do when the homework says see page 47 of your textbook?
  9. We have two similar to this http://www.amazon.com/Automatic-Toothpaste-Dispenser-Tooth-Holder/dp/B007JD6M7G/ref=lp_13749821_1_3/182-4881057-1579023?s=bedbath&ie=UTF8&qid=1423602253&sr=1-3 If you read the reviews they will tell you the adhesive isn't permanent. We just screwed ours into the wall and haven't had a bit of trouble!
  10. I have looked to no avail. It is the 2014 CLEP Official Study Guide put out by CollegeBoard. On page 25-26 there is a section on interpreting your scores. The book immediately starts the practice tests. Did we get the wrong book?
  11. Heehee. Awesome title!! Serve over rice with sauted vegetables on the side.
  12. I did a minimal search and didn't see the answer, so.... How do I find out my dd's scaled score for her CLEP practice test? I don't think she is ready to take the real thing yet, but I am not sure. It is American Government if that matters.
  13. I haven't read any of the thread up to this point....so.... Yes!! Even our family's homeschooling began this way. I was never going to be one of those mothers.
  14. I didn't know how to multi-quote for the longest time. It was like I joined a secret long-time member posting club. Now I just lament my expulsion from that club. Please, please, give us back our multi-posting member status. :crying:
  15. Does it bug me? A little bit, but they can plan their special day however they choose. When my only first cousin married she requested no children. I had a nursing baby. It was made very clear to me *no* children, so we didn't go. It does make me a little sad. I had to choose between weaning and leaving a little one for a week while I went out of state or attending my cousin's wedding. I chose to continue nursing.
  16. The 20+ disposable wadded up kitchen gloves in the trash, the lack of toilet paper or the toilet brush left in the sink?
  17. Agreed. We moved from a non-HOA neighborhood that eventually went south. Our current neighborhood has an HOA with just a few basic rules. The minimal fee includes pool, park, and greenbelt upkeep plus several special events throughout the year.
  18. Yes, this. You could potentially lose your home if it went far enough.
