  1. You are able to watch right now? I just spoke to a customer service representative and was told that was why I wasn't able to watch the series I am trying to watch. She said streaming was no longer available. We were trying to watch Once Upon a Time. Edited to ask: Is it a movie you rented or just general content?
  2. It worked! Streaming again!! Now you must download an app. When did this craziness start?
  3. Thank you all! I read mixed answers and google defaults to paying for tickets not inflight purchases.
  4. Salmon. It's great cold over salads. Same with steaks or any beef really. Just slice and serve over a loaded salad.
  5. Of course not. Nor did I mean it that way. No reason to shout. I have close family members with mental illness and others with substance abuse issues. While addiction may not be a choice, first trying a substance often is. It’s hard to get addicted if you never try a substance. Do I believe that some addictions happen without choice? Yes, I do. After a serious injury, for example, one often is prescribed a strong pain medication with addictive properties. Another example would be chronic illness. Do I believe some homelessness and addiction is caused by choices one has made? Yes, I do. Not all and maybe not even the majority, but some certainly is.
  6. I don't know what the solution is. In OKC, we have a large amount of opportunities for assistance from shelters and day labor opportunities, as well as, no-strings attached, regular meals given by local churches. Unfortunately, some of our local homeless population is caused by location. When formally incarcerated people are released they are given a choice of a small amount of cash and a bus ticket to a Greyhound station. We have a popular one in down-town OKC. Also, due to the fact that we have two major interstates intersecting here, a certain amount of the homeless population will travel the interstates to panhandle. Quite lucratively, I might add! Unfortunately, many of our homeless population is due to mental illness and personal choice. Not that they choose homelessness, just poor choices like addiction that can result in homelessness. No shelters around here will allow a dog to accompany their owner so many of our homeless dog owners are faced with the choice to abandon their dog or stay homeless.
  7. I'll go first. They discontinued Lipstick Queen's Frog Prince. It took me years to find a decent shade of lipstick that was flattering and did not dry out my lips. I am bothered more by this than one should be.
  8. Dh suggested Diff'rent Strokes. So far it's been a hit with everyone.
  9. Thanks for all of the suggestions! 100 plus degree heat is tough. We've done a bit of school work and pool time, however there are many more hours in a day to fill. One can only play so many hours of Madden. *Ahem, here's looking at you teen boy of mine!
  10. Agreed! It's tough! I'm trying to avoid everyone slinking off into their own rooms to play electronics all day. Not that a tv series isn't electronics, but at least we are all together, right? The boys like all things Marvel and super hero. The girl prefers Hallmark type movies and cartoons. Today we watched the Minion movie and it was a hit among all.
  11. I loved the A-Team as a child! They've watched some of the episodes. I had quite forgotten about that series. Thanks!
  12. Are there any movies or series on Hulu, Prime or Netflix that would entertain 18 and 16 year old boys and still be appropriate for an 11 year old girl? It is in triple digits and I can only sit by the pool so many hours a day!
  13. Loud noises cause me to feel nauseated. It isn't linked to anxiety.
  14. I try to always keep a backup product or two of items we use frequently. When we are about to finish something like shampoo or laundry detergent, I purchase another before opening the next one.
  15. Very misleading! Imagine having a hungry infant and seeing recalled formula. It would be very tempting to feed one's child recalled formula in times of shortage.
  16. I do not have much of a relationship with any of them. Due to my biological parents' various marriages and divorces, I have had several step-siblings. (I also have a few siblings adopted by one parent, so does that make them 1/2 siblings?) No "full" siblings. Of the ones that are no longer "related" due to parental divorce or death of the step-parent we no longer cross paths. No animosity, we just don't see each other. I was forced to get a protective order against one of the two that are felons so no contact there. I live a vastly different life from my remaining siblings. When we see each other once a year at holidays everyone gets along, we just don't feel the need to connect otherwise. It grieves me somewhat, but none of the situations, apart from the protective order, have anything remotely to do with my husband or children.
  17. I started having dh do this. It helps tremendously! My dd suggested something I have yet to try. She follows a YouTuber that was having trouble getting up at her desired time each day and found a method that finally worked for her by making three separate morning schedules. One is her ideal morning schedule, one is her only necessities, lazy schedule, and one is somewhere in the middle. When she wakes she chooses whichever schedule she is in the mood for that morning. I plan to try something similar next school year. Some days are just lazy days, we might as well plan for them.
  18. Option 2. Sit on the lawn. Even a responsible 16 can get distracted by the concert goings on. I'd be concerned for both 16 yo and 13 yo if they got separated. Not that anything nefarious would happen, but going with an acquaintance at those ages doesn't seem wise. Edited to say: Adding a 4th person to the mix, like another friend, would make a difference, imo. But if it were my kiddo, I would likely join the group then sit way back as to not cramp their style. 😉
  19. This is what I'm suspecting. It doesn't make sense to me that it would show up randomly 2 years later. Progressively, yes. Out of the blue, no. My thoughts exactly! I don't know how they would know and since I wasn't there, I can't speak to the exact wording by the neurologist. Yes, she is on a medication that lowers blood pressure. She will need to ween from it to take the medication that helps the tremors as it also helps lower blood pressure and the combination would lower it too much.
  20. Unfortunately, she can no longer carry drinks or pursue her favorite hobbies of knitting and needlework. Apparently weight effects them. So if she carries a clipboard in her left hand, the hand with the most severe tremor, then the tremor gets worse in her right hand because of the weight of the clipboard. Neurologist told her they are benign, but will progress over time. I'm sorry to hear that your 16 year old has developed them! How tough to be a teen with this.
