  1. THIS ADVERT HAS EXPIRED!

    • FOR SALE
    • NEW

I have BOOKSHARK SCIENCE 6 for sale. Includes: Teacher's Guide, all books, supply kit sold by Bookshark, extra experiment items purchased from Home Science Tools, 2 sets of student sheets. A few student sheets have been used (but the guide comes with a complete set of sheets for copying). I just purchased them separate because I'm lazy. 😉 From the science kit, the packet of soap flakes has been used -- everything else is new. This is a like new set, other than items listed above. Like new with extra student sheets and extra *needed* science experiment/kit items that actually aren't household items (eye roll). Message if you're interested and we'll talk pricing. I'm willing to make a deal but I'm not looking to take a huge hit.

    $12,345

  2. We've had it for about a month (for my 11 yr. old). I found a discount code on a FB ad. We haven't fully explored it yet, but I like what I've seen. DD *really* liked it at first but has sort of fizzled out. She said she'd like it better if I didn't make it a part of school...but she didn't use it on her own, so idk. I think it'd be super fun for kids who don't otherwise get much screen time. (Left to her own choosing, DD will always choose her digital drawing programs over this.) Aesthetically, it's very well done. Maybe not 100% intuitive to use (DD's is sometimes not sure about her choices between doing lessons or games/etc) but she does use it independently.
  3. My kitchen-living room-hallway are SW Accessible Beige. It's a greige, so it swings a little both ways (but def more beige than gray). It seems to go well with a variety of colors in my house.
  4. Those Grand Canyon train packages look good and fairly affordable. I was researching them recently as a possible anniversary trip. They are mostly pretty basic (trains, buses, lodges, shows & food), but you can add on various Canyon hikes/tours/rides (to make it more adventurous for teens).
  5. Complicated, perhaps, but not the OP's doing. The consequences are from the father's/older son's behavior. They are the ones threatening their family/livelihoods/future.
  6. I can't imagine how emotionally drained you must be. That said, while your friend will likely understand if you don't make it, it'd probably mean a lot if you were there to offer your support/presence (particularly if you've been close to her parents).
  7. We're not especially rigorous. My 8th grader does math and reading for about an hour each (independent of me). 30 min for geography and Spanish. (So that's 3 hrs before lunch...). After lunch, 30 min science and an hour(ish) writing. So altogether, 4.5 hours. That doesn't include music or extracurricular activities (1x/wk), nor does it include art (sporadic).
  8. Great update. I have a hard time giving a pass to an officer turning a blind eye to illegal activity in his home. (But I also lump pot in with other illegal drug use, so there's that...).
  9. Dog Man? My youngest liked those for a while. She also liked "Binky the Space Cat" and "Chi's Sweet Home". Calvin & Hobbes?
  10. We squeaked in an hour of ToTing before the lightning began. Then, about 5 minutes after we made it inside, heavy winds and rain and lightning. Crazy. And after 30-40 minutes, it stopped completely. In fact, on the way home (we were at friends' house) the university students were out in full Halloween force doing their thing downtown.
  11. Rain and possible thunderstorms, right at peak ToTing times. Boo.
  12. Ah, maybe it was Super Nanny! I do remember watching that a few times when the girls were little...
  13. When oldest was 3, we decided to try and break the "coming into mommy's bed in the middle of the night" issue. I don't remember the name of the book we followed, but it included the "no engaging" aspect. But there was starting out sitting by the bed, then after time sitting across the room, then by door, then outside open door, then outside door with it closed. It did take months...but it worked.
  14. I just wore these to Busch Gardens (with no show socks), and they did really well. https://www.crocs.com/p/womens-literide-mesh-slip-on/205727.html?cgid=women&cid=06J I've been struggling with plantar fasciitis and other foot issues and these made it about 10k steps before I was really feeling foot sore.
  15. This a fabulous thread! Thanks for sharing. DH once had great success losing weight when he did a "Biggest Loser" challenge with a coworker, complete with $$ prize. He was super motivated. Now (13 years later) he's regained the weight (and some) and is struggling to get serious about it. I bet he'd love the site you mentioned!
  16. The Differin is very drying, as well. My DD also struggles with eczema, so we're always walking a tightrope with her face. 😞 I keep seeing those blackhead extractors (like vacuum devices) on Amazon, but I don't know if they're worthwhile...
  17. This is what the dermatologist gave my DD for her blackhead problem (Differin).
  18. Fixed! I voted for all that I mentioned. 😄
  19. You need the option to choose multiples! I'd get my hair done in the morning, food trucks @ lunch (with a friend?), IKEA afterwards, then home to watch movies and scroll through the forum. 😉
  20. We used to love Seeds Family Worship (we listened a lot more when the kids were younger)! They aren't cheesy or childish at all -- very singable and catchy.
  21. These are our top favorites, as well. I also really enjoy I Am They. They have a folksy, old-school kind of sound (if anyone remembers Caedmon's Call, they remind me of them.)
  22. Do you listen to Christian radio? We like K-love (and they have an app). Also Spotify has great Christian playlists.
  23. We'll probably wait for Disney+ to launch. They'll have a plan that bundles Hulu for not much more. I think we're only like 3 weeks from the launch...
  24. Thanks! I also got the email this morning...now to decide if we're keeping it or canceling! (DH is the only one using it -- but it has a lot of his current tv shows...)
