  1. Thank you! Now I feel good about putting it on our list too. We've become bored with a lot of our regular games and are ready for something new and this one looks like a lot of fun.
  2. Whew, I know you are glad that's over! And I'm thrilled it wasn't anything worse. Now you can rest and be free of the worry.
  3. I feel for you! We have a cat just like that. We brought him in from the outdoors about 15 months ago during a hurricane. Because he did so well inside, we decided to keep him. He's a cat's cat, 100%. Humans? Not so much. Picking him up? Ever since we took him to get fixed, he does not allow anyone to pick him up. Doing so will result in blood loss. Giving him medicine? No way, no how. It would never happen. Even applying flea medicine requires tricking him. So I don't know what I would do if I was you. Any of our other cats would get a trip to the vet but he's a special case and I really try not to traumatize him any more than I absolutely have to. If it was our cat, I would probably give it another day and hope for the best. I'll be thinking about you and Obama!
  4. This game came across my FB feed and, after reading its details, it looks to be a game that would fit my family well. However, what it says on the internet is not necessarily the truth. Has anyone here played the game? It's described as a light game that's easy to learn but still works your brain with strategy. Is that true? Is it fun? https://www.veryspecialgames.com/products/abducktion-base-game-a-weirdly-strategic-game-of-duck-kidnapping
  5. Good question. How will they handle licensing if cats can't get their shots? I can't imagine them giving a lengthy grace period.
  6. I really wish I had a bigger house where I could keep a dollhouse out for my granddaughter. Fixing one up would be so much fun.
  7. My granddaughter (5) just about lost her mind over the unicorn lunch box my mother just stumbled upon in the Walmart clearance section. It was so funny and very cute for us adults to see that reaction. On the other hand, my mother gave a me a golden snitch necklace. Um, I really, really don't know why she would think I would like that. Sure I've enjoyed the books and movies but I've never felt drawn to wearing Harry Potter anything. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with that.
  8. We like to go through the wrapping paper for anything that might double as a birthday paper. We've gotten really lucky finding some nice neutral ones in the last few years.
  9. This is definitely a ventable topic. Oh my, what a crazy thing for a squirrel to do. I'm so sorry!
  10. Absolutely, littles can accomplish tasks. Just today my grandchildren (3 and 5) snapped beans for tomorrows dinner and cleaned the kitchen floor with wet cleaning rags and loved every second of doing both. Parents who don't are really depriving their kids of learning tasks while the tasks are still fun for the kids to do.
  11. OMG, I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw your picture. I would have bet my last dollar that it was a picture of my cat. Here is one of my girl.
  12. That is a lot. Do you have anyone you can talk to? You really need someone who is there for you, just for you. I am so sorry this has been happening to you and your family!
  13. As my AAA guy said to me yesterday, "It's great when there are happy endings."
  14. I've had good luck with Orthofeet. I've bought several sandals and a pair of boots that I love.
  15. I know you feel that load off your shoulders. I'm so glad that's done and you guys can just enjoy the holidays. Whew!
  16. I got our cats a collective gift of a new round cardboard cat scratcher bed. They love it! None of our others have been round so they are really loving this new shape. They even take turns. LOL
  17. Years ago, the interstate was extended so that the city was completely circled. That new bit of road showed as nothing but land on Google Maps for the longest time. It was fun to watch us drive right off the road and into the middle of nowhere. ETA: I forgot to mention that it took years before the new section of road made it onto Google Maps which was surprising since this is a segment of the interstate.
  18. Raining here too and I'm feeling a bit under the weather so I'm probably going to stay home today. Sundays, DS3's fiancee and I usually go grocery shopping together but I think I'm going to decline today and hopefully get some chores down and work on my cross stitch.
  19. Just last week, I was waiting for a car to pull out of a space. It was having trouble getting backed out because of the loads of people walking by and another car was trying to back out at the same time, so I'm just sitting there patiently waiting. The problem was there was another car wanting to back out near me but couldn't because I was in the way and it started beeping at me. There was no where I could go because of the people and cars so I ignored it. It was the most aggressive horn use I've ever heard. He just kept going and going and going, so when I could finally move out of his way, I took my own sweet time about it. My companion and I just laughed about it and then went on our way. That guy probably fumed on it for the rest of the day. Ha!
  20. One of the reasons Joann's is always our first stop for crafting/sewing supplies is because of their coupons. I almost never pay full price for anything. I wait until I have a coupon or it's on sale. Michael's coupons aren't much of a discount and Hobby Lobby got rid of theirs altogether. I'm sure I can't be the only one that shops that way at Joann's. I wonder, if in my search for good deals, I'm partly responsible for their financial strains.
  21. Even at 100 that's still an expensive cake. I hope you feel better soon and that your dh doesn't come down with it as well.
  22. Ours too. There's been a large cart of merchandise still in the boxes in the Happy Planner aisle for at least 6 weeks. Us and others impatient for the new stock finally started opening them ourselves so we can buy the darn stuff. Super frustrating. They also don't seem to be repairing burned out lights. It's scary because this is our favorite craft store. We have a Michaels in the same shopping center and then a Hobby Lobby a few miles further down the road but we always go to Joann's first.
  23. Another person who read her as female and I think there must be more of a reason than because we are female. Usually, when sex isn't listed, I read the character as male so there is something about this character that I'm forgetting that caused me to read her as female. I've always picture her looking something like Bobbie Draper from The Expanse or Brienne of Tarth from Game of Thrones.
  24. I always that it was "butt". I think I learned this as a teenager eons ago.
  25. I'd just nuke them and eat them as baked potatoes. The leftover greek yogurt would taste delicious on them.
