WOW! that was me and my youngest daughter during her 1st and 2nd grade years, we did a lot of nature walks and drawing what we seen, I kept it simple, ( as simple as it gets for me) * a read aloud * reading* phonics*history crafts, coloring or drawing* easy grammar* Bible Reader w/ devotion writing kim
  2. I purchased a very old encyclopedia set, and my son cuts and glues the pictures, we also use a lot of stickers, & stencils. kim

  5. I used Grapevine Studies last year w/ my 1st & 4th grader , we loved it http://www.grapevinestudies.com/ We actually did the Christmas one, it used stick figures to tell the story, it was fun, and both enjoyed the drawing ( very easy) kim
  6. Looks very organized, do you plan on having 2 different times for spelling? I noticed 1 in the morning w/ reading, and another one in the afternoon? Just wondering kim
  7. I would definitely pick up where you left off , it will be presenting different parts of speech and then a review of all things learned. Sometimes we've taken longer than 1 year to finish. kim

In our previous history notebooks, we've put things in as they progressed through history, this is what I plan on doing for TOG, I filed all the worksheets, maps, timeline people, etc. under each week, as they finish, it will transfer to Unit 1 Binder,etc. At the end of the Year, I plan on them having 4 Binders that all go together w/ that unit, we've found this helpful, when we want to pull out one of our notebooks from a previous study, and it's all together, vs. the maps in 1 binder, writing in another and so on. My kids have many theme notebooks from previous years, they like to get them down, and read THEIR!! own history books they've made! So that is my plan kim

  11. our first one we traded off at 175,000 miles, we are now at 90,000 on our current one, and plan on driving it up to 200,000! kim
  12. our youngest 2 are adopted from Guatemala, so are assumed "mexican" a lot. I always say " I agree, we should not let "illegal immigrants stay in our country, I brought mine over legally and everyone else should also!" kim

  15. I think that is a very thorough plan, and if you don't get it all done, I wouldn't worry, you're covering a lot here! I like all the hands-on , fun things you have planned, at his age, this will teach him more than anything have fun kim

  17. We mapped all the battles and marked them win or loose, my 7 yos found this very interesting, he also loved acting out the battles w/ mini. soldiers. kim
  18. I have incorporated them into my TOG yr 1 lesson plans, we've done a lot of notebooking, and I thought this would keep everything together nicely, and I bought the lesson plans do go w/ it. which tells exactly what to do in each box! kim

  22. we do one timeline for K- 9th and one for Highschool; Ours is a big timeline book; " Book of the Centuries" which is a 2" binder. kim
