  1. We jumped in with Bigger last year, but didn't get through it then. I picked it up again in the fall when we started school again this year. The further we went, the more I loved it. I did love it from the beginning, but watching it come together has made me love it even more. I had to really delve in to see the pattern and the flow of it. We are wrapping up unit 24 today. My kids have progressed in their skills, so we are doing a unit in 3 - 4 days. Preparing is on the shelf waiting for us to start on in mid-March. It's been a really good program for us. I hope to get through as many of them as we can. I think HOD's newest program coming out this fall looks really good, but we aren't quite there yet. Add't info: Here's what I love about it. I love that it's open and go. I love the short bites of info each day. My kids and I aren't overwhelmed, but are getting our school work done each day. I love how it all ties together and I love how the activities tie in with our reading, so my kids retain it better. It's been a blessing to me and my family -- we are actually getting school done this year!
  2. A friend of mine recently introduced me to this cream. https://www.aihu.net/MemberToolsDotNet/(S(cgns011gpitxfhwuxwq4eer4))/ShoppingCartNew/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17899&CatalogueID=205&PartyID=0&PartyGuestID=0&InternalUse=1&ProductGroupString=66.69&ReferringDealerID=815099 It is amazing. It has really helped my fibro pain. She has fibro and RA and has been using it for over a month now. She said she is getting rid of a lot of the knots that she had in her shoulders and back. I've only had mine for about a week. The heat pack too has helped loosen my muscles.
  3. We have several white boards. I would say that they have been one of the best investments in our homeschool. I use them daily. I write assignments on them, I write copy work on them, and the kids use them for math and spelling. They think it is more fun to write on the white board than on paper. None of them are on the wall, however when we move, I do want the larger one on the wall.
  4. I don't see the ortho as doing bait and switch. They offered what they said they would.
  5. After seeing the post on here a couple of months ago, I did some research about it and then purchased it. I had been dealing with vertigo for well over a year and was getting tired of it. I had been to many doctors and had many tests done and nothing was taking care of it. I figured I didn't have anything to lose by trying the Humaworm. Two days into it, I felt something moving around on the left side of my head behind my ear and then it moved into my neck. After that I couldn't feel it anymore and I've had no more vertigo since then. I think I probably had a pork tapeworm. I've had some movement in one of my knees too. I'm on my 2nd round now. The first one I did in Oct. and I just started this one last week. I have had a headache since Friday, so I know I am doing some major detoxing. I also had my son and husband take it. My husband didn't say if he had any results from it, but my son had really good results. He is 13 and has been a bedwetter forever. We've tried chiropractic and would probably go the medication route next, however a week into his taking the Humaworm, he stopped wetting the bed. That right there was worth it to me! :D It has been beneficial to our family. I found it gentle, but effective. I liked that I didn't have to alter my diet to take the Humaworm.
  6. We are on Unit 23 of Bigger. I haven't done Preparing yet. It's on the shelf, ready and waiting for us, when we get done with Bigger. However, this sounds like a reason to keep using it if you like it. That is a big part of the program.
  7. Do you have a kindle or are you using an ipad? Ipad users don't get this feature.
  8. That would be a lot for me. Our homeschool group does activities for the kids twice a month. They last an hour and 1/2 to two hours. It's fun to get together, do a project together, and then get on with our day.
  9. I wonder if your body is hanging on to extra weight because of your fasting. I need to lose weight this year too and have been following the Eat Clean Diet. She recommends eating 6 times a day. She starts the day with oatmeal. Sugar and processed foods are eliminated. I've lost a few pounds so far and my muffin top is starting to shrink. Here's the link to the Eat Clean Diet website. http://www.eatcleandiet.com/
  10. I wouldn't, but then again, I had one baby at 33 weeks and the other I was on bedrest for. She came at 37 weeks. The thought of walking around an amusement park at 36 weeks pregnant sounds like no fun at all to me.
  11. Yes, antibiotics can start working that quickly. The sleep helped her a lot too. Glad she's feeling better.
  12. I wouldn't announce it then. Why take the chance of ruining her birthday party? If you have already told your sister, I think the chance that your mom knows by now is a possibility.
  13. The lady that posted that review on the other message board didn't say if she had seen a preview. I have not seen the movie, nor any previews. I only posted with what information I had seen in some other discussions of TinTin.
  14. If you are shopping for a little girl still, here is a great deal on calico critters. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=ty_blfr11_b1g1_calico?ie=UTF8&docId=1000760791&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_r=1D69Q30PSRTYH0X3M4T5&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1340312702&pf_rd_i=360960011 50 percent off when you purchase two.
  15. I need some other opinions. I was offended last night by this and can't tell if I'm just getting old  or if this was inappropriate. Last night at AWANA's, they had a Christmas party for the kids. It consisted of singing Christmas carols, a hay rack ride, kids talent show, and chili supper. There were about 90 people there. The songs we sang while carolling where traditional Christmas carols. They also sang Happy Birthday Jesus and had a birthday cake. Typical things for a church Christmas party. When the party was starting to wind down, the mc/song leader said that during winter time we all needed be careful outside as it's often slick and then said he had a song to sing about that. He broke out in song to "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer." I couldn't believe what I was hearing at this church party filled with families -- moms, dads, kids, grandparents. So, do I just need to :chillpill: or was this inappropriate? We don't go to this church anymore, but my kids have attended AWANA for 7 years there. I'm not sure if maybe I'm just not impressed with this guy either and that's what's clouding my judgement. They did a grand prix race in Oct. there for AWANA, and did a video beforehand to remind the kids about sportmanship. It talked about how they should be good winners and losers. They also let the leaders/adults that are involved in the club do a car and this guy did. He did this big show when his car was racing and made a huge deal about how his car won. It was the total opposite behavior of what they were expecting from the kids. I'm not sure if I should mention something to the AWANA commander or church pastor, or just forget about it. We've always enjoyed the AWANA program there, but this is starting to bother me this year. Advice? ETA: I agree that it's a silly song. But is AWANA an appropriate place for it? Maybe I'm just a little sensitive about it this year. My grandma passed away in July and this will be our first Christmas without her.
  16. Our topic tonight at our homeschool support group meeting will feature some must have items for homeschooling or the things you wish you would have had or known about when you first started. We also plan to tie in ways to "simplify" our homeschooling too. So, what are you must haves? What do you tell a new homeschooler that they need to have in order to get off to a great start? What items could you do without that you thought you needed? Or what would have simplified your homeschooling? I would love to see what the hives must haves are. :001_smile:
  17. I think I want to get a laminator for homeschooling. Does anyone have one that they recommend? Thanks! Amy
