  1. It wasn't that way when I signed up for pinterest last year, but they have changed that. The reason being that they want to link you with people right away and they get those from your facebook friends.
  2. You can't prevent people from following you, but you can unfollow those that you are following. It also won't do you any good to start over. Pinterest is linked to facebook, and you can't join pinterest without either having a facebook account or twitter.
  3. A week of waiting wasn't long enough???? :001_huh: And I never did get an invite from pinterest. I requested one, waited, requested again. Still nothing. Finally gave up and found someone to send me one.
  4. I requested an invite from the site and never got one. I was able to get on immediately when a friend sent me an invite. I guess pinterest isn't for you. I personally love it. I've found so many great ideas on their for our homeschool group, school projects, the house we are building, scrapbooking, and recipes. I love being able to see my all my pins on my boards all lined up. It's been helpful to me in identifying my style with narrowing down items for our new house. I love pinterest!
  5. :grouphug: Good luck with deciding what you are doing. I wish you and your children the best.
  6. I'm not understand why, if you would really like to cut contact or limit contact, that you would call her on his birthday to ask why she hadn't called your child. It sounds like you need to lower your expectations. If she remembers and calls, great -- bonus for your child. If not, well, that's just how grandma is. But, to call her to ask where the call is, that's just playing into it. You are just as much into the game as she is.
  7. Cheerful Cursive is very independent. http://rainbowresource.com/product/sku/018482/75e34a2af74c8973497d0b0c
  8. My 13 yo 5 ft 7" son sleeps in a queen. 9 yo dd sleeps in a double. DS has a queen because we bought ourselves a new one and he got the old. I don't know if he could sleep in a twin though. He's all over the place while he sleeps.
  9. From Nebraska and have never seen one. I have heard about them from another message board though in the past couple of years.
  10. There is this one. http://www.justmommies.com/articles/home-organization-plan.php
  11. I would start taking 2 T of flax seed a day. I was diagnosed with IBS in college. We started the eat clean diet in Jan. and my tummy issues have disappeared.
  12. My vertigo was caused by a tapeworm. :glare::glare: After seeing several doctors and having a lot of tests run early last year, it all cleared up after taking Humaworm (a parasite cleanse) in October. Haven't had an episode since.
  13. If she is between and hasn't done anything like HOD before, I would go with Bigger. We are still in Bigger. We have 8 units left and then we will start preparing. From looking over the Preparing teacher's guide, Preparing has more independent work and builds on skills worked on in Bigger.
  14. Heavy??? My dyson is one of the lightest vacuums I've ever owned. I love my Dyson. I have the purple pet one. It works very well. I use it as my primary vacuum. My husband uses our Kirby when he vacuums. Now, that sucker is heavy.
  15. With my 2nd, I drank ice tea. It got liquid in me, but wasn't water, which made me sick.
  16. Ibuprofen (and lots of it) was the only thing that worked for me too. I had terrible cramps in high school too. I remember the principal had to drive me home once from school because I was so sick one day.
  17. :iagree: You either need to cut out activities to get things done at home, or be ok with not getting what you want done at home. I fell into this trap too when my kids were younger. I finally had to make their schoolwork at home a priority. We do not leave our house until afternoons now. My kids are involved in things, but they are late afternoon and evening activities. I just noticed that Wed. gym time at 11:30 is for the 2 year old. I would def. cut that out. I would think that school work would take priority over gym time for a 2 year old.
  18. This was posted the other day. Maybe you'll find some here. http://theplantedtrees.blogspot.com/2011/12/heart-of-dakota-bigger-book-basket.html
  19. Actually, those are all in the extension package, which is for 4th or 5th grade. We've read them all, except The Buffalo Knife. We aren't to that one yet. I don't think younger kids would enjoy them much.
  20. Our forecast is calling for 8 - 12 inches, and possibly up to a foot of snow. :glare:
  21. We are starting this on Monday. I should have started last month, but put it off.
  22. I would say it's because you are getting older. Mine have shortened over the years and are now 3 days long.
  23. We put pajamas on right before bed. In the morning, I shower and get dressed before we start schoolwork. The kids just get dressed. I wouldn't get anything done if I wore my pajamas all day.
