  1. Why does it bother you that she wants to take care of her baby in this way? I think she is wise to be cautious. Microwaves and pregnancy
  2. I think so. I usually spend around $100 on shoes, because I've found that they are more comfortable to me.
  3. I'm partial to Studio J by Close to My Heart. It's very user friendly. My daughter has been using it since she was 8 and loves it. I like using it too, but am still hardcore hands on -- still love my paper too much. You can check it for free here. Studio J. You only pay when you print your pages.
  4. I'm sure they will be fine once you get started. Mine always act up when I'm rushing around trying to get things ready. You're probably trying to make sure you haven't forgotten stuff and kids pick up on that. It will be fun once you get there! Try to relax and enjoy your family on the trip.
  5. I use Charilie's Soap. I've used it for quite a few years now and I think it does a good job. Charlie's Soap website I purchased my last container on amazon.
  6. Love HOD here too! Finishing Bigger in 3 weeks and then moving on to Preparing.
  7. I just figured they wanted you to use MFW's programs through your child's senior year.
  8. I'll echo what the others are saying. I would go sooner than a month or two. If her time is limited, she could go downhill healthwise quickly. I wouldn't wait. One thing you might help her with (unless she has already done this) is for her to write letters to her children that they open at different times in their lives -- graduation, wedding, a birthday, birth of their first child, etc.
  9. I like the white better, but have the black. My DD wanted hers to be white, so when they bought mine, they got mine in black. DD's is white. She got hers later. I had not shopped for ipads, so didn't even realize that they came in black and white until she got hers. :tongue_smilie:
  10. This is my plan. I heard Denise Eide speak last year at out homeschool convention and was very impressed with her then. I purchased her book The Logic of English at that time, but wasn't sure how to implement it. I bought the curriculum when it came out and have done the first lesson with my son, but we haven't picked up back up. (I'm on a mission to finish our other curriculum right now). So, I think doing it this summer will be perfect. I'm not sure where it ends grade level wise. The IG says that they program systematically teaches how and why English words are spelled in the a particular manner and how to build words and phrases and sentences, thereby providing students with the tools needed to decode, spell, and write. It is designed for students ages eight through adult who want to improve their reading, spelling, and/or sentence level writing abilities.
  11. For an 8 year old student or older, not reading/spelling at grade level, the program is to be used for 75 - 130 minutes day for 8 - 16 weeks.
  12. LOE is not independent. And for an older learner, she recommends spending about an hour a day on the program.
  13. Would it be too much of a step back to bump her back to Beyond? She fits the age range for it. I know that when my dyslexic struggles too much he gets very frustrated and we don't make much progress. Maybe Beyond would help give her some confidence and be a little easier on all of you. Sounds like you still have some bumpy months ahead. :grouphug:
  14. I believe it will be out at the end of April. The new Missions to Marvels curriculum will be featured, along with the newest DITHOR books.
  15. I'm confused as to why you would send that to your realtor? The husband and the wife each are entitled to have an opinion on the house that you are selling. You were basically eavesdropping on their showing. What do you expect your realtor to do about it? I think the best piece of advice you can do for yourself when selling is detach yourself from your home. I know it's hard to do, but that's the best thing to try and do. Think of it no longer as your home, but as property that you are selling. I saw that you posted about your trees and you can't increase the price of your property to reflect the cost of the trees being removed, unless your contact will be ending soon. I would personally leave them alone, unless that is the one comment that you keep getting over and over again.
  16. Really?? In our town, Perkins and a local diner are open 24 hours. I wouldn't have called my mother or texted when I was 20 either.
  17. Dyslexia website I would contact them here for a list of testers in your area. There is a lot of info on this site. I've heard Mrs. Susan Barton speak (founder of this site) and she is extremely knowledgable about dyslexia.
  18. This to me all points to signs of dyslexia. Your regular doctor won't be any help with that. Children that have dyslexia also have a higher tendency to have ADD, which your doctor can help with. But, it wouldn't be my first step, personally.
  19. I had hyperemesis with my pregnancies. What I read was that you need to get ahead of your morning sickness. Get the zofran if that's what you need in order to stop the cycle. You might be able to get off of it later. Here is site that might help. Hyperemis Website
  20. Have you considered taking CoQ10? http://www.preventive-health-guide.com/coq10.html CoQ10 for Alzheimers and cancer Now, scientists are hoping its effects on the heart, blood systems, and tissue toxicity means CoQ10 can soon be used as part of a treatment program for Alzheimer's disease, and for recovery from stroke. They’re also hopeful about the possibility of using it as part of a treatment regimen for women with breast cancer (together with conventional treatment and a nutrional program involving high levels of other antioxidants and fatty acids).
  21. I think I would have finished cooking it yesterday on low. It would have been fine left in the crock pot the rest of the day. I'm not sure if I would finish cooking it now. It doesn't seem "safe" to me.
  22. I agree with the others. Use it and don't worry about it. That's what that these types of auctions go. You never know who is going to bid and what they bring. I've donated to them in the past. You hope that you gain a new customer from them at a good price, but sometimes you get a current customer that got a great deal. But, you never know what's going to happen with it. Use it. Enjoy it. Use the money towards your son's trip.
  23. Yes. I double ordered a book at Christmas and wanted to return one. They said I didn't need to send it back.
  24. We've done that the past two days. Seat work first inside and then head outside to finish up with our reading. It's working fairly well.
