  1. I called my mom and she was crying. Someone had placed a Strivectin ad that said, "Got turkey neck?" inside an envelope and put a sticky note on it that said, "From a friend". She received it in the mail today. Now why on earth would anyone send this to someone??? My mother is a kind and gentle person. She is always doing things for others. She's active in her church, doesn't gossip, never speaks ill of anyone. ever. ever. So, here I am thousands of miles away from her, and I just want to give her a hug.
  2. I am so sorry. Your daughter is blessed to have you there for her. Just love her. That means so much. She will remember. :grouphug:
  3. Yes, it is 8:54am in beautiful Okinawa, Japan. This is a very special ww for us. It was 3 years ago today, that my dh brought dd home from China. Happy Day!! Semper Fidelis Academy
  4. Hang in there, honey. Go to Starbucks and have a drink! I wish I could take you there myself. Please let us know how her day goes.
  5. I don't understand how you can imply that her parents were unaware, or not giving her the attention she needed. How do you know there wasn't any dialogue between them? You sound as if you believe that it's the parents' fault that she became pregnant, or that they could have done something to prevent it. That's like saying if a kid has a drug problem, then his parents must not be doing something right. There are plenty of parents (quite a few on this board) that have dialogued, counseled, and done everything they could to help their children and the children have decided to disregard their parents' knowledge and advice.
  6. Well, you're trying to defend a man who is not against it. He voted against banning partial birth abortion in October, 2007. So explain how her statements are slanderous. Is it because he has never stated that it was ok to allow babies to die who are not successfully aborted? I'm not sure there's any difference in the monstrocity of that and in cutting up a baby into pieces so it can be removed from a woman's birth canal.
  7. What's hideous and monstrous is the way partial birth abortions are performed. I recommend you do some research on the procedure.
  8. I agree. Having it loose in the container may send up a red flag to someone, and then they may poke around in it to make sure you're not hiding something. I know it sounds crazy, but it's possible.
  9. If the original containers are 3oz size or less, you can just put them in the bag. For instance, I had some lotions that were in 3oz containers, so I did not need to put them in the travel containers. I just put them inside the ziploc bag. And you can put as many items in the bag as will fit. HTH
  10. We flew to Japan in July. You may carry liquids in your carry-on but they must be in containers 3oz size or smaller and they must all fit in a 1 quart/liter ziploc bag. One bag per person as well. All other liquids (shampoos, etc.) should be put in ziploc bags inside your checked baggage. There is not a size restriction for liquids going in checked baggage. You may want to check this website for more info: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm Check with the airline website to see if they have further restrictions. I believe most are the same as the FAAs. HTH
  11. Jenny, I came up with Boromir and Elinor as well. Interesting, huh?!
  12. Hey, wait a minute. I may lean towards being a fundamentalist, but after these last few posts, I think I'd like to try a Mike's. May I?
  13. Yes, I get that. I was asking if the author of the article had voiced concerns when she was running. That's all.
