  1. Thank you!! I need to learn to search better, i can't ever seem to find what I need.
  2. I've tried every search word I can think of and I keep getting last years planning thread. Can someone link it for me?
  3. Anyone have a college kid living on campus? My oldest son may be moving on campus in the next few weeks. I'm curious what your son or daughter budgets for food? My son is looking at the on campus apartments, so he'd have a kitchen and would cook for himself. I have no idea about how much money he'll need to budget for food.
  4. I'm in the same boat. I have $700 to spend before March 22. Last year I had one of my kids enrolled in a different charter school, and the funds from that school rolled over year to year. Really wish our current school did that.
  5. You've gotten a lot of good info already. I just wanted to add... when my husbands parents passed away, he was much more sentimental than I thought he'd be. He took way more stuff than we had room or use for. It took several *years* before he was willing and able to go back through that stuff and get rid of more. Just an FYI. It was really tough Big hugs to you.
  6. I absolutely died laughing watching the video. The look on the mom's face is priceless, and when she leaned back in to close the door.... I think I've watched it like 5 times now.
  7. We have USAA and pay 250 a month with 2 teen drivers (one only has a permit) and 2 adult drivers with full coverage.
  8. Oh that's right, Jana isn't married. I've read a few articles that claim that she probably will never get married and that she's been the designated daughter to take care of the parents in old age. Anyone else read that?
  9. I get their kids all mixed up. Who is married and who isn't?
  10. Can you get some kind of respite care from the county for your disabled son? Maybe that might help.
  11. I had already stocked the bathroom with different types of pads and tampons. When dd started, I gave her a red beaded bracelet that my husband had made for her (he's the artsy crafty one). She and I went out for lunch. Then we went to the fabric store where she picked out fabric for some zippered bags that we later made together. It was a really nice time together. She seemed happy and not at all embarrassed.
  12. That a great idea! Currently my ds thinks BA is fun math. I'll have to check out grocery cart math.
  13. I use Paula's choice for everything. It's seriously amazing. I love looking at her site and researching other products to see what the ingredients are. She breaks everything down.
  14. I'm finally (begrudgingly) starting to plan for next year. What fun or creative things do you have your 4th grader doing? Just looking for some fun things to add to our week.
  15. It didn't take more than a few tries for my 9 year old to figure out his ripstick. Now he zooms all over the cul-de-sac on it.
  16. I had 6 people (though one was a baby) with one bathroom. It was such a pitb. I was constantly have to monitor who was in there, tell them to hurry up, move the next person in to shower etc.... No way would I ever willingly do it again.
  17. My 15 year old is obsessed with 80's music, lol!!
  18. So my 9year old 3rd grader finished CLE math book 305. I grabbed 306 and we started working through it. He finished 3 lessons, and I was thinking it was strange that they jumped right into division. I figured maybe we missed a section at the end of book 305 or something. Today he brought me the book and I realized we had been doing book 309!! Oops, we just skipped 3 entire books.
  19. I would absolutely do that for a teen. I have a 20 year old, and looking back over his high school years, he was very lonely. I'd do anything to be able to go back and put him in a program where he could have made more friends. Your preschoolers will be fine. You may even meet another family to carpool with.
  20. I have used Science Fusion's middle school modules. My daughter absolutely loved it. It's a textbook and workbook in one. The online access is a little tricky to figure out, but once I took some time to understand it, we used it frequently. You don't need access for more than one kid, it comes free with the middle school modules. It had quizzes, video lessons, digital labs, teachers manual etc. I felt like it was very solid and thorough. It would be easy to add lapbooking. I loved that my daughter could choose what she wanted to study and we were able to really focus. It was really a great curriculum.
  21. I'd go straight into grade level. It's pretty on target imo.
  22. I'm doing HRT with bioitenticals. I feel like a new person. It's amazing.
  23. $0 well visit $10 sick and all other doctors, therapy etc.. $100 Er, unless you're admitted then free
  24. We've been using it for about 2 months and my 8 year old loves it!!
