  1. I loved Phonics Museum! I used it with 3 of my kids. It was priciest but worth it. We all loved the songs and games. It made learning to read super fun.
  2. Lands End. They have long sleeve dresses in winter with super cute leggings. My dd lived in them.
  3. Perfect! No sense in filling a prescription I already have.
  4. My daughter just had her wisdom teeth out this morning. They gave us a prescription for Norco for pain. My son had his wisdom teeth out last month at a different doctors office. I have his leftover prescription of hydrocodone – acetaminophen. Is this the same thing?
  5. I'd give the kid a class B shirt to wear, but not a class A uniform shirt.
  6. My son joined Boy Scouts at 14 1/2 and just made Eagle. Let her do it, my kiddo made a ton of friends and loved it.
  7. My daughter has gone to Forest Home Christian Camp, near Redlands CA. They have a CCA ( Child care assistant) program during the summer. Girls ages 13-18 can go to camp for 6 days for $75. They work with the kids who are at Family Camp, with their family, in the morning. At night they babysit for a family that's at camp. They are often assigned to a family in pairs, they keep the same family the entire week. It's a great balance of work and play. The girls have their own cabins that they stay in with same aged girls, and their own counselor. They have plenty of free time to run around, swim, ride the zip line, explore etc...my daughter usually goes several weeks each summer. https://www.foresthome.org/event-series/cca-summer/
  8. I hate minivans, but adore my Honda Odyssey. My van is usually full with all my kids friends, ha ha
  9. You absolutely want a living trust and not a will.
  10. I'm really curious to see the dress that you say looks like it's for an older person.
  11. Is this a teenager like 13+? My kids would be mortified and horrified if I had asked that of them. A little kid, sure. But not a teen. If this is a teen, I'd set up an expectation, like "I expect that you will practice swim strokes an hour each week". Then let it go, don't nag, bug ask etc... at the end of the week if it's not done, no electronics for the next week. Simple. Lol.
  12. I have one kiddo graduation from a homeschool charter school who didn't do the a-g track. I also have a 10th grader who is currently doing a-g track with the same charter. I switched ESs which made things a bit easier, my new ES is easier to work with and knows more about a-g. Some charters are easier to deal with than others too. Maybe ask around and see if there's one in your area that's easier to work with?
  13. Nope, my dd took pre-point in her regular shoes, then 9 months later was in regular pointe shoes.
  14. I finally decided to buy it, and it's over, lol! Anyone know if they do the sale again before Sept?
  15. How old is he? If it's your 17 year old, I'd have him quit and go with you. If it's your 19 year old, I'd have him fly out for a week and then fly home after a week. No matter which kid this is absolutely do not go in there and try to handle it for him. That's way overstepping imo.
  16. It takes some time to think of things to use Charter funds on, but once you start mking a list it's hard to stop lol. Keep in mind that most charter funds are split into two drops, one in late summer early fall, and one at the new semester. I'm spring, I always try to buy for the upcoming year. Keep in mind that some charters require you to return things that they consider "non consumable", that's different for each school. I don't think I've ever heard of a charter school that did not allow you to use funds for field trips. We bought; huge set of pentel pens huge set of really good colored pencils and the sharpener Craft kits Science kits Tinker crate subscription Books on CD Clay Science journals Learning games (our charter requires games to be approved, but I found that most of the games in the timber doodle catalog were already approved)
  17. I wonder if they will take charter school payments? That might help defray some of the cost.
  18. Several years ago my husband was out of work, but we had to many assets to qualify for any kind of free health care for him and I. The kids were on medi-cal. Then he got a new, very low paying job, and the insurance was astronomical for what he was making, it was seriously half of his paycheck to cover the kids and I. His job covered him, but I had to go without. Twice during that time period I hurt myself enough to need a doctor, once a twisted ankle, once I hurt my hand and thought it was broken. I found a local clinic that had a sliding scale. It was in a not so great part of town, and they treated me horribly. It was the first time I had been without insurance, and my excellent doctor. They ran terribly late, and were curt and rude and acted like I was just there to get pain meds. I had to go to a different location for an xray and I was 10 minutes late because I got lost and they cancelled my appointment and made me reschedule all while berating me for getting lost. I cried. I probably needed a specialist, but didn't want to go through them, so I just delt with the pain. I was so lucky that there were no lasting issues with the hand injury. But my view of health care was changed by that whole issue.
  19. I'm going to be using it with my fourth grader next year. I think I'm just going to buy it. Printing it out seems like way too much effort. LOL
  20. My dd would not have wanted to wear those, she would have said they weren't girl enough. You can find longer shorts, you just have to look a little more.
