  1. I keep a Flip & Tumble 24-7 bag http://www.amazon.com/Flip-Tumble-24-7-Bag-Slate/dp/B0028K2SSM/ref=pd_sim_201_7?ie=UTF8&dpID=31p4VD9ll%2BL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0Y9JC53HEH4Y7DWB5YGYin my purse so I always have a reusable shopping bag with me. It can hold 4 bags of flour without a problem...or a week of library books! I also use it as an extra bag when traveling to carry food onto a plane or store jackets etc.
  2. My girls like that Bai5 juice-water-tea stuff---I'll stick a bottle in their stockings! Thanks :) Between the bottle, their favorites from Bath & Body Works, and the mini umbrella there won't be much space left to fill ;)
  3. I'd return it to Costco and get the HR elsewhere. (Disclaimer: I'm a Charge HR cheerleader :D)
  4. Dh is writing his Christmas cards to his clients while playing Christmas music :) My day: --make french toast using the rest of the sourdough loaf --prepare for an elementary Science Olympiad team meeting here this afternoon (paperwork, assemble demo devices, gather books, etc) --plan meals for week --plan week as a whole --write a comp gov test and a psych test, oh and a bio test too while I'm at it   --weekly college discussion w dd
  5. We all have Hydro Flasks. The girls and I have the narrow screw-top lids. I like that I can hook a carabiner through the top and hang it off a bag or belt or hook it inside a larger bag so that it's easy to find. The lid obviously detaches when you drink which could be a pain if you're trying to do something one-handed. The guys have the wide-mouth bottles. The connector for dh's lid broke within a few months of heavy use. He rigged a new one with zip ties. Ds's hasn't broken after two years. No one wanted the sports bottle top so I can't comment on those. Forgot to say: the Hydro Flasks have been dropped so many times. Mine is dented all around the bottom because of some spectacular drops onto rocks and concrete. I think I would have gone through multiple glass bottles by now!
  6. Dd isn't into those fandoms, but I found great stuff for her favorites on redbubble.com!
  7. I bought a few Christmas presents this week---clothes for the girls and an awesome scarf for dh :) I also bought a few items for my elementary Science Olympiad team, but those are reimbursable should I wish (I'll treat that $10 as a donation). I did buy two on-sale Kindle books for a total of $2.98 :D Mindful spending in that I waited for them to be on sale, right? ;) I'd like to finish the Christmas shopping this week. We're giving The Boy a Costco membership and an IKEA gift card (he lives on the opposite coast now :() but I want to pick up some kitchen items for his stocking. The Girlfriend gave us good intel after visiting him for Thanksgiving!
  8. Rieshy, they count if my crampiness and crankiness count!
  9. Today I --made cranberry bread with a new dairy-free recipe (dd: needs more orange) --did laundry --took dd to Nut rehearsal --bought fish for dinner --went to concert with dh and ran into an old friend from high school and his parents!!!!!!!!!!!!!! --picked up dd from rehearsal --made dinner --had a drink :D I think I will cap off the day with a library book on my Kindle :)
  10. I love to walk and hike, so I find a treadmill (we own one) to be sooooooooooooooooooooooo boring. Ellipticals kill me but, like catwoman said, you have to make sure that it works for your body. We own one. I thought it was good until I tried the ones at the gym----I am too small for our home one! The elliptical works my legs, butt, and abs as well as giving me a good cardio workout. I <puffy heart and rainbows> love the recumbent bike at the gym. It gives me a good cardio and leg workout. I use that bike the day after I heavy-lift with my trainer.
  11. Our daughter was the only person (male or female) on her freshman floor with tools. She was very popular after move-in :D
  12. Today's workout---as much cardio as I can squeeze in while dd takes an Arabic exam. They can leave as soon as they are finished-------last exam day I managed a whopping 25 minutes of exercise (and that as having dd walk from campus to my gym).
  13. The class was fun! And not terribly difficult. He shared a variety of modifications (harder and easier) for each of the six exercises we did. I was able to do the hardest for some and the easiest for others. And I wasn't the oldest ;) My victory---I was able to do pushups on my knees for the first time since February  Take that, silly shoulder!
  14. So my day: --dd to an Arabic exam; me to gym --dd very late rehearsal slot today, 8-9pm --daily and Friday things --plan info sessions for next week --purchase clay etc for those --edit gift lists --emails o' the day --ACT prep w dd after schoolwork is done
  15. Dd is finally (finally) taking an ACT practice test. The testing date is a week from Saturday. She knows what score she'll need to automatic scholarships... We'd normally be working through the fourth subject of the day by now. All she's done so far is eat, read and discuss bio, and this. I am practicing my calm face.
  16. Tonight I'm going to try a bodyweight bootcamp-type class led by my trainer. I must admit to being nervous. I haven't been in a group exercise class since...college  Yesterday during training I did 3 really good reps deadlifting 135 lb (I worked up to that, obviously). That beats the 2 reps at that weight last time :D
  17. Sunny here, too :) --outreach Nutcracker performance at the children's hospital this afternoon --dd ballet class 5-7:30 --dh and I are trying a new bodyweight bootcamp class at the gym 6-7 --daily and Thursday things --ACT prep squeezed into the day --some emails --more decorating --buy salmon for tonight's dinner Dd received good news yesterday--she's a semifinalist for a much-wanted summer program. Now we wait for her interview date :)
  18. Dd received good news about the summer program. On to the next step and waiting until April! Sooooooo senior year is looking like it will happen next year  Math: ??????? options include AP Stats at home, university calculus 2 and 3 Science: ????????? options include AP Physics at home, geology and/or astronomy at home or at the university English: Blue Tent Online Senior English (post-AP) Social Sciences: AP US Government, AP US History, AP Macroeconomics (most likely all 3) Foreign Languages: depends on what happens this summer ;) but she'll definitely have Arabic at the university plus another language at the university (Russian or Chinese) or with a local tutor (something unusual, see:summer)
  19. White House Black Market (price range of Talbots)
  20. I've been using it since April 2014. I use the 5x8 Moleskine hardcovers with the graph-paper-type pages. I do write a sticky note of things I want/need to do that week--I move it from page to page. I do not keep a monthly/calendar page. Dh and I use ical to schedule everything.
